How to plug a blu-ray dvd in my theaterwide tv...i have a hdmi converter to componant but no images.....thanks

Your TV cannot reproduce 1080p resolution so go into the menu setup of bluray player and make sure resolution is on 1080i and not 1080p. I understand you will have to do this on another TV capable of 1080p or if your bluray player has a composite output (yellow single rca) then hook that up as it may be active at the same time into your AV in on the TV. Once you have picture, then you can enter the setup menu as I have indicated above. I hope this solves your problem.

52HM84 Toshiba DLP with apparent failed lamp (replaced ballast)

I found R3 on the original board to be open, along with reading an open on CR1, D5 and D6. All the other transistors and the transformer check out. The only thing I have to do now is find out the specs of the diodes. The replacement board also had CR1, D5 and D6 open (R3 was OK). There had been some threads on various locations where remanufactured boards had bad components (the transistors were changed but not some of the other components).

New lamp was replaced on November 2014. In May 2015, there was a pop sound and the pictures disappeared, what do I do?

Check the lamp again it might have broken, that or some component on the power board has died.

I have the same problem with my 65HM117. Funny, but it started just when I was getting a FREE repair for a Samsung LCD tv with bad caps on the power supply about the same age as the 117. The problem according to Samsung tech (who was kind enough to look at it while he was here) is the DMD (digital mirror device) chip, the "processing" part of the DLP (Digital light processing). Suggested I call Toshiba. Toshiba rep, obviously not in the USA, told me Toshiba doesn't make DLP's anymore "because of all the problems." They apologized repeatedly, repeatedly pointed out the unit is "out of warranty," but NO help or recal even though they know they built a product with defective, unreliable technologyl. Bottom line, Toshiba lost a customer but SAMSUNG has one for life! I'd repair it, but can't find the part number for the board with the DMD...
