My lens will not zoom when the zoom ring is
I'd contact
Tamron Tech Support. These are not cheap optics and they are assembled with precision. Opening the lens could cause contamination or further damage resulting in an even costlier repair, if out of warranty. Most Tamron lenses are covered by up to 5 years of warranty - provided you haven't opened it up - or abused it.
I hope this helped - good luck!
The camera tech says one of the elements is smoky
The only way you could get a replacement element is from the manufacturer, and they probably won't supply one. Your only realistic option is to send it to Tamron for repair, but if it is not in warranty, this may be too expensive to be practical. I also doubt that you will find a genuine service manual for this online, though some sites may seem to offer one.
The Tamron 18-200mm lens extends and changes
not a lot the lens is a big heavy lump to hang on the camera mine do the same thing,,,best bet is use shorter lenses not just one big cannon hanging off the frount that can zoom in on a fly at 1000 yds
My tamron lense is locked, I don't remember doing
If it's only two months old then it's still under the manufacturer's warranty so send it back to Tamron. I can't tell you where to send it as you haven't said which country you're in. Tamron value their reputation and usually provide excellent after-sales care.
If you're in the UK you additionally have Sale of Goods Act protection for up to six years in England and Wales and five years in Scotland. Either way, the Act allows you to demand a full refund or replacement from the retailer; I'd suggest a refund as bad lenses often come in batches and a different supplier is less likely to have one from the same production batch.
Note that any attempt to fix the lens other than by normal use of the lens and camera controls may completely remove your warranty benefits or consumer protection.

Aperture not going below 6
There is no problem. The lens is f/3.5-6.3. That means that at 200mm the maximum aperture is f/6.3. At long focal lengths you will not be able to open up beyond f/6 or so. At the short end, at 18mm the maximum aperture is f/3.5.
ERROR 99
try cleaning the lens contacts of your lens and camera.

Tamron has identified this problem with the Canon. See link: http://www.tamron.com/about/updates_canon.asp, but I am not sure about your Nikon.
