My Toshiba model# MW27FP1 worked

The fail safe circuit has been engaged to prevent fire and further damage to some of the components inside the set. There is possibly an open circuit or short on the power board or even on the sustain boards of the display and colkor engine. NOT a DIY operation, without ability to read a cicuit diagrams have the right tools and be able to assess voltage outputs.

My DVD player keeps freezing and skipping scenes.

Try cleaning the optical pickups you can either take covers off and use isopropyl solution with a clean cloth to clean mirror or you can try a cd/dvd cleaning disc from most electronic retailers.

Only has a line through center of screen

Problem started as a simple cold solder joint. Now the connection has either burnt to the point of not making any connection at all, or the vertical output has gone out due to the stress. As far as the dvd player goes. Sounds like the microprocessor is heating up and going bad. Nothing can be done other than replacing the whole unit.Should be able to order it from Toshiba.

TV will not power on

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If your TV is not powering on then it is due to faulty powerboard. The capacitors on the power board maybe swollen or bulged.

You'll need to replace these capacitors and/or the wholeboard. You can buy the parts from these links--

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Switching on problem Goodmans tvc201t

The TV is on protection.

Protection is a special diagnostic mode that will keep the TV in standby as an internal fault had been detected.

The clicking noise is the protection switch that keeps turning the TV off to prevent further damage.

The fact that TV restarts after unplugging lets think to a fault on power supply board inside TV.

When you unplug TV you discharge PSU capacitors, and that is the reason why the TV restarts afterward

First test the unit on a different socket. If you are using a surge protector, remove it.

Try also leaving the TV unplugged for a longer time, let say several hours.

Also unplug all connected device, and leave only the aerial cable, a defective receiver box or DVD can cause the same problem.

If that does not solve the problem, then the TV is faulty, probably a defective PSU (power supply) board. The part must be tested before replacement.

In this case, locate any good qualified repairer.

If you want to DIY you find parts here. You will find schematics and diagram to test the TV on the service and repair manual that can also be purchased from the seller below.

Toshiba 42RV500E sound issue

This is a known issue with this TV. The following might resolve it: Check Mute and Volume: Ensure that the TV is not muted and that the volume is set appropriately. Sometimes accidental button presses can lead to muted sound or low volume. Inspect External Speakers: If you're using external speakers, verify their connections. Loose cables or faulty speakers can cause sound issues. Test Different Inputs: Connect a non-HDMI device (such as a DVD player) to the TV. Observe if the sound distortion occurs. If it doesn't, the problem might be related to the HDMI signal from your Virgin box. HDMI Troubleshooting: If the issue persists with the DVD player over HDMI, consider the following: HDMI Cable: Check the HDMI cable for damage or loose connections. Virgin Signal: Contact Virgin to inspect the signal/lines and replace the box if necessary. Mainboard Replacement (if needed): If the sound distortion persists, it could be due to a faulty sound processor chip on the TV's mainboard. In this case, consider replacing the mainboard. Change batteries on my toshiba se-r0001 remote

  1. Locate the Battery Cover: Look for the battery cover on the back of the remote control. It is usually a small compartment that can be easily opened.
  2. Remove the Battery Cover: Depending on the design, there may be a latch, screw, or sliding mechanism to secure the battery cover. Use your fingers or a small screwdriver to open the compartment.
  3. Remove Old Batteries: Take out the old batteries from the battery compartment. Pay attention to the orientation of the batteries, so you know how to insert the new ones correctly.
  4. Check Battery Polarity: Take note of the positive (+) and negative (-) signs inside the battery compartment. Make sure to insert the new batteries with the correct polarity to match these markings.
  5. Insert New Batteries: Place the new batteries into the battery compartment, ensuring they are properly aligned with the correct polarity. Press them down gently to make sure they are secure.
  6. Replace Battery Cover: After inserting the new batteries, close the battery compartment cover securely. If it has a latch or screw, make sure it is fastened properly.
  7. Test the Remote: Point the remote at the device it controls (such as a Toshiba TV) and test whether it responds to your commands. If the remote is working correctly, you have successfully replaced the batteries.
  8. Dispose of Old Batteries: If the old batteries are no longer usable, make sure to dispose of them properly. Many communities have designated recycling locations for batteries.
