There must be a broken piece of the tray thats blocking the process. Try to open the console using a screwdriver and get rid of the broken bits

Sony PlayStation... | Answered on Dec 15, 2019

Here are a few troubleshooting tips to try:
1) Check all cooling vents for blockage (dirt/hair/debris)
2) Are cooling fans running?
3) Is there enough space between cooling vents and surrounding objects

Ensuring your PS2 is cleaned regularly is vital to its survival. As with computers and consoles alike, the cleaner they are, the cooler they run, the faster and more responsive they are.

often as not, it's the disks, not the console. check the disk condition for fingerprints and deep scratches

Sony PlayStation... | Answered on Nov 29, 2019

That seems like all you should have to do. Are you selecting the correct Input Source on your TV???

Sony PlayStation... | Answered on Nov 26, 2019

is it all game disks or just one ? It may be something as simple as a greasey finger print on the disk or a scratch that stops your console from reading a disk

Zilla This may not be an issue on your side. Try the following, if it still doesnt work read what EA told me .. LOL First, please check to make sure that your PS2 is connected directly to your Cable or DSL modem. If you are using a router, check to make sure that the router you're using is official supported by Xbox Live. Now if your DSL or Cable modem connects directly to your PS2 already, try power cycling the modem itself. This means unplugging the modem from the wall, waiting one or more minutes and then plugging it back in. Restart the system and try again. If at this point it still does not work, check to make sure that the ports specific to Xbox Live are opened up on your Internet Service Provider's end. These are the ports that need to be open in both incoming and outgoing directions: UDP Ports: 88 & 3074 TCP Port: 3074 NOW This can also occur if you are using a Gamertag that was previously linked to another EA account. Most often, this occurs when someone creates a Gamertag and links it to an EA account, but then has their Gamertag deleted. The Gamertag then becomes available for another player to use, but is still linked to the EA account in the EA system. When this happens, the server looks to verify against the old EA account and fails. The most common errors recieved are: 'An EA Server is not available at this time.' 'The EA Servers are currently unavailable.' Although a more comprehensive solution is being looking into, you can get into the game immediately by creating a new Gamertag to link to your EA account. If the Gamertag is not already linked to an EA account, you will be able to link it and play without issue. If you would like to be alerted of any new information concerning this issue, please use the Notify EA on this link (http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=11681&p_created=1143153073) Should you require further assistance about this or any Electronic Arts games in the future please visit our website and review our extensive Self Help knowledgebase (http://support.ea.com). Now I did this and it worked for Madden and Battlefield for 1 week then it happened again. Heres what EA told me. Thank you for contacting EA technical support. I am sorry to say that we are experiencing issues with the BF2:MC servers at this time. Connectivity and clan features are there but you may experience sporadic availability to getting into games. As for filing incidents, "unresolved," means exactly that. This incident was not solved. This is no means of brushing a problem aside. I apologize if there is a misunderstanding. We plan to have these issues resolved as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience that this has caused for the time being, and thank you for your patience! Please respond back if you have anymore technical issues concerning this matter. Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts! A previously released Madden NFL 08 update for the PLAYSTATION 3 was causing an error code (80010009) to appear and prevent online game play.

There has been a fix published by Electronic Arts (EA) on this problem.

This has now been resolved, but if you already downloaded the update, you will need to remove it before the game will work.

Please follow the steps provided by Electronic Arts below.

If you have encountered an '80010009' error message after downloading the most recent Madden NFL 08 update, please perform the following steps listed below:
  1. Press the PS button on the controller and select QUIT.
  2. In the main screen of the XMBTM user interface, select Game.
  3. Highlight the Game Data Utility folder and press the X button.
  4. Highlight the Madden NFL 08 file and press the Triangle button.
  5. Delete the file.
  6. Restart the game.
This will allow you to launch and play Madden NFL 08.

most games require you have a certain amount of mbps (speed of connection) to prevent lagging. a slow connection may be your problem. if you are using a wireless adapter try actually plugging the ethernet cable into the console. also, have you set up your network options and saved them to a memory card?
