Need a update on blu-ray

There are 2 ways to update your blu-ray player. You can go to the manufactures website and download the update to a flash drive. Insert the flash drive into the player and follow the manufactures instructions. You can also update the firmware directly from the menu on the blu-ray player if it`s connected to the internet. Hopes this helps !

"no disc" message

sounds like you have a problem with the laser.laser has to focus a lot sharper to play dvd thus will play vcd but not dvd.Try cleaning first and if this doesnt work would suspect laser faulty,.

I'm having disc error messages or/and I cannot play dvds region 4

Below is a process to unlock the region's in that DVD player. There were a few methods try this one and post back letting me know how it goes.

1. Remove any disc in the tray.
2. Using the remote, turn the power off.
3. Turn the power on.
3. Open the empty tray.
4. Close the empty tray and wait until the player recognizes there is no disc in the tray.
5. Press "Menu, 1, 9".
6. A large rectangular area will appear in the bottom half of the screen; in the middle of the rectangle will be a single number that identifies the region to which the player is set.
7. Pressing the number keys on the remote will have no effect. Instead, use the up or down arrows above and below the "enter" button to change the region number. ("0" presumably is "region free".)
8. Once you have selected the region code (i.e., the number that now appears in the middle of the rectangle) press "enter".
9. Press the "opne/Close" button and the unit will save the selected code.

Hope this works let me know .Thank you for choosing Fixya! Feel free to leave a positive rating if this solution helps.

Screen says INSERT DISC after I have put the DVD in. What's wrong?

1. Incomplete disc information or scratched disc. This is the main reason for the issue. Before you try anything to examine or fix your DVD player, it's suggested that you make sure the disc you are trying to play is intact and well. If it's the problem of your disc, then trying to fix your DVD player does not help at all. In this case, you can copy the scratched DVD disc and then you may play it on your player machine. 2. The disc is incorrectly formatted. A common DVD disc or Blu-ray disc is formatted in various ways. You can find different DVD or Blu-ray disc types in the market, such as DVD-RW, DVD-R and 4K Blu-ray disc and so on if the disc is not formatted correctly in accordance with the player, then it will not be detected. You can use some software tools to correctly format your DVD disc. 3. The glitch of the DVD laser lens. Most of the DVD "No disc" problems are caused by the glitch of DVD laser lens. The cleaning DVD laser lens is not easy and requires patience and carefulness. You can start out by trying to blow away the dust if that doesn't work, you can try using a DVD cleaning disc.

No sound on movie

what are you connecting the sound to the tv with?

Be aware that a component cable only carries video
http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/graphics/infolib/homelib/hComponentVideoJack.jpg

cables that carry sound include scart
http://tech.petegraham.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2007/03/scart.jpg

phono
http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/graphics/infolib/homelib/hPhonoInputs.jpg

and optical
http://www.getdtvready.com/images/optical%20cable.jpg

If this is correctly connected then check in your DVD player menu for sound output, some DVD players wont auto-detect what type of sound cable you are using and you may have to set it to the type of output you are using.

Good luck.

Connecting a sony dvp-sr500h dvd player to sanyo

Here is the quick start guide https://docs.sony.com/release//DVPSR500H_qs_EN_FR_ES.pdf You seem to be using the Video & Audio connection. Start at the Player. Connect cables to YELLOW Video, RED Right Audio WHITE Left Audio Then go to TV and find the YELLOW input RED input and WHITE input. On some TV's they are separate, some combine them with the COMPONENT inputs (Component is 5 cables you will use 3 of them if you only have COMPONENT inputs) Some TV's have an input button on the remote but no on screen selection. Try pressing the input repeatedly to access the other inputs. Lastly you will not get upscaling if you are using the 3 cable hook-up. To get upscaling use an HDMI cable to connect. Be sure to not have both types of cables plugged in at the same time HDMI by itself is best. If you reply with the modelof the sanyo TV I'll try to get you more info.

I can get the home page up on the tv where it says

Assuming the player is fine, the 'Bad Disc' display message usually means either a disc which is an incompatible format (for example DVD-ROM) with this player; a disc which is a region that does not match that of the unit; or a defective/damaged disc. Check the discs prior to using them in this player and if they are burned discs, make sure they are a compatible standard format for playback.

This model is not region-free by default unless stated otherwise in the manual.

Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 DVD - YELLOW light indicator of what problem?

Marlin P Jones & Assoc. Inc.. has a 5V 2.2A /12V 1.5A cord power supply that will fit into the space where the original power supply was! Lists for $6.95 but online price was $2.95. Works great! Connect 12V supply to the yellow lead and the 5V to the red lead of the output connector, black is ground, common to both supplies. Use QC terminals to the power cord input terminals, remove the cable clamp and the power supply will nestle beautifully in the space without need for support. (Remove the old circuit board plastic (3) and rear brass standoffs and use the front brass standoff for the output cable shield ground connection. (Part No. is 15955-PS) I bought two because I have a 2nd Cyberhome CD-DVD 300 which hasn't crapped out yet.
