Alesis DM6 Electronic Drum Set Questions & Answers
When I hit the snare
I believe I have found a good part of the solution to this problem. I also had this problem in the snare. The problem was so severe that, when pulled, the snare support, without giving him any beat, the sound appeared. I took courage and opened the snare.Ao open, I realized that a yellow adhesive used to glue the trigger wire had melted and the other touching the trigger. I think this must have happened at some point prior to my purchase that equipment has been under excessive heat and then drained to such a glue. Simply cut the little wire glue "connected" two triggers, and closed the snare ....... ready: is working perfectly.
How fix the firmware problems with alesis dm6?
Have you updated the firmware recently? If not, do so.
If you are having volume issues, you can adjust them with the following:
Adjusting the volume of individual pads:
-Press Voice.
-Then press Volume.
-Strike the pad you would like to adjust.
-Then use the + and - buttons to adjust the volume of the individual pad.
-To adjust another pad, strike that pad, and repeat step 4 above.
Very low volume on all drums.
I don't think there is anything wrong, it has a very low line level output intentionally. This is to minimize distortion to an amp or mixer. Mine is the same and also a different brand. It is actually made so you could play it through a stereo without damaging it.
Alesis DM6 electronic drum kit module sound
It appears that you have to select a "Kit" of drums when using the external triggers. It appears that the volume level for the kit and that for each voice MAY all have to be set, especially after new firmware download. Read manual about KIT volume level and selecting voice and volume level for those. Manual is NOT very clear about these things and you have to try them as this is where the probllem is.
Have the alesis dm6
Two things:
Check that cables are seated, especially the one at the main module.
Second, look for a setting for "Local Control" in your user's manual; That setting should be "On" to accept the triggers from the pads.
