Philips LCD HDTV -- color problems
I am having the same issue. I believe the issue to be somewhere in the transition between HD channels and non HD channels. A work around is to switch the input to another input such as DVD and then switch back to your cable input (mine is the HDMI input). I'm probing the web looking for why this happens and if there IS a permanant fix.
Where is the fuse
Follow the power cord inside the set as it goes directly to the line voltage fuse that is there.
Lamp on hitachi 50v500a is in the back
Been a while since I saw one of these sets--part of a class action lawsuit==if I remember lamp is behind a door that is clearly removed from outside of set--check or google here the model number with lamp location and You Tube has video instructions for changing the lamp itself.

My hitachi lcd l32hp04u a will not switch on, blue
Unfortunately, the most likely and common problem has happened; the main power supply has failed. It has probably been marginal for some time but certain components (electrolytic capacitors) don't live forever when used in circuits with fast signals present. If the power supply is a separate assembly (very common), it is a matter of buying a replacement, removing the old one and installing the new. These are connected with plugs which are not easily interchanged so can be done by a smart layman. The cost will be between $75 and $150 US for the supply, labor varies depending on area.If the supply section is on a larger single board, it may be necessary to remove the entire board for repair. If you can remove the back panel of the set, look for a smaller board with larger-than-average parts on it, There will be large and small cylindrical parts (capacitors) as well as fair-sized blocks (transformers and chokes). This is the section that has failed and should be available from the mfr.'s service center.
Why is my lamp light flashing on my hitachi 50v500
Did you inspect the lamp? If so and if you replaced it be sure you have it plugged in good and that the door is engaging the door switch and that the door switch is not damaged. If not, take the lamp out at the access door and look to see if it is blown. A replacement can be gotten at pureglare.com at a reasonable price. The lamp sometime may not appear to be blown but look at the bottom of the center glass stem for bubbling of the glass at the base of the stem. If so, then replace the lamp.

I had whole redish/pinkish screen on my 50v500 starting a few days ago, then I read through each of the threads on this site for the samilar problems on my model. I found TVtechmaniac's solution (pasted below) solved my problem. Thank you TVtechmaniac!
Enter the I2C Service Menu, be sure the power is OFF. 1. On the front control panel, press and hold the INPUT button. 2. Then press the POWER button for two seconds. 3. You may keep the INPUT button depressed until you see the OSD with the Service Menu displayed. 4. If you don't see the service menu, please repeat Process making sure you wait until the Power blinking LED stops. 5. Execute the Memory Initialize operation after the adjustment values have been written on a sheet of paper. Highlight “MEMORY INTI”, arrow to the right and hold the button to the right (approx 5 sec.) until a check mark appears in the box. This activates the Memory Initialization.
6. After the Memory initialize operation has finished (10~15 sec, the channel will revert to CH 3.) the pink image symptom should be fixed.7. Write back the adjustment values from your notes to their respective adjustment parameters in the adjustment mode. (In other words, set the Data Values back to the the Data values written down before the Memory Initialization procedure). NOTE: Make sure the SELECT Button is pressed on remote after every change to the values. Failure to do so will result in the data values not being changed.8. Exit I2C menu. Press exit repeatedly until you go back to the normal picture. 9. Turn the set off-on and Confirm the picture remains in a good condition.
BE SURE TO COPY DOWN DATA SETTINGS BEFORE INITIALIZING I2C SETTINGS
