re: canon ir3100cn E000020-0081

Hi
We bought a used ir3100cn from the UK and shipped it to our home country. before shipping it we have tested the copier by making around 1000 colour copies (total copies+print counr 67k). However after the shippemnt, copier glass was broken and then we got a E000225-0001 code. then we replaced the glass error code gone but we got another one.

now we getting E000020-0081. we cleaned the toner area, but still we getting it. i would be greatful if you give some assistant to solve this problem as in our country not easy to find a expert on these copiers.
Thanks
Eeel

I just spent 20 min typing a detailed post why the e225 is already fixed and the e020-0081 is common and means the drumm patch sensor is dirty and then the web site erased it. Grr.

The drum patch sensor shines down at about the 11 o'clock position halfway down the drum. Remove the drum taking care not to scratch it or the transfer belt and clean the sensor window.

If the problem re-occurs then you may need new developer units.

Enter service mode by pressing the "additional functions" button, then the "2" and "8" buttons together, then the "additional functions" button again.
You will then go to Copier>Function>Clear and select PWD-CLR. Hit "ok".

Hit the yellow reset button a few times to get back to the regular screen, and you should be able to get into the system settings to change IP config and other settings.

Depending on how it was configured, you may have to restart the machine for the reset to take effect.

Once you change the IP settings, do another restart and wait for about 3 minutes for the machine to get on the network...

What are the options to print the TX Terminal ID on received pages?

Answer :
The TX Terminal ID settings enables you to specify whether the sender information is printed at the top of every document that you send via i-fax. Information such as your i-fax address is printed, enabling the recipient to know who sent the document.

Note: If you set TX Terminal ID to 'On' you can also set the position of the Terminal ID information which is printed on the recipient's paper.

The default settings are:

TX Terminal ID: On
Printing Position: Outside
Display Destination Name: On

1) Press Additional Functions

2) Communications Settings

3) TX Settings under Common Settings.

4) Press the up or down arrow keys until you see TX Terminal ID

5) Select On or Off

If you select ON:
Select the printing position of the Terminal ID information, select 'On' or 'Off' for display Destination name, press OK.

Printing Position:
Inside: The Terminal ID information is printed inside the image area on the recipient's paper.
Outside: The Terminal ID information is printed outside the image area on the recipient's paper.

Display Destination Name
On: The destination's name registered in the Address Book is displayed in the Terminal ID information.
Off: The destination's name registered in the Address Book is not displayed in the Terminal ID information.

If you select OFF
Press OK

6) Press Done repeatedly until the Send Basic features screen appears.

Error :
E732 code

Workaround :
E732 code is a Reader communication error.
If the Reader is disconnected from the Printer a E732 code will result. Once the Reader is disconnected the logic on the MAIN-Controller is changed to a "0". The copier is now set up to be a Printer only, and will not recognize the Reader.
To correct this, you must enter service mode, COPIER>OPTION>BODY>W/SCNR and set that to "1". Then you must turn the copier off, then on.
To enter service mode: press "Additional Functions" then "2" and "8" together, then "Additional Functions".

Canon IRC2620 Error Code E000001-0004

I have a Canon IRC2620. I get error code E000001-0004. It displays this message for 60 seconds and then power shuts off to the keypad. I cannot access anything without restarting. After restart I have another 60 seconds before the screen shuts down. Pushing the power key on the panel does nothing - just dead. Only way to restart is via main power switch. What is wrong here?

This is standard error code for Canon and the fuser unit. The error can be reset by being ready to go into service mode quickly. First press the additional function button, then the 2 & 8 keys at the same time and then the additional function key again. The display should change to the service mode screen, indicating " COPIER " and other accessories. Press " COPIER " then accross the top you should see a menu and select "FUNCTION" then select " CLEAR", then " ERR ", then " OK." This will clear the error from the copiers memory. Turn off the main power switch, wait a few seconds, then turn the copier back on. If you continue to have this error you will have to replace the fixing assembly and if it is similiar to the IRC3220 then you ahve only two screws to remove and the whole unit comes out. You will be saving a service call and I do believe the fuser is over $500. I usually don' tknow the prices of items until I have to do a quote for a customer. Good Luck.
