Screen goes totally black

It sounds like one of your ram chips is having a problem and needs to be replaced. If not then your motherboard is having a problem accessing both slots and this indicates a bios issue. Try downloading a bios upgrade for your motherboard if replacing the chips doesn't help as this cannot create some serious issues if you do it wrong. I would suggest you get a single 512 or 1gb ram chip instead of 1 or 2 256 chips as the price difference is minimal. Hope this helps.

I have a fx 5200

Hello and Welcome to Fixya!

Lines running on your screen can probably mean that there is a hardware issue involving your monitor/LCD. In order to separate this, here are some things that you can try :
  • If you're using a desktop PC, remove the video card and enable the onboard video(in BIOS) - if the problem continues, then there's a need to update the video driver or replace the graphics card.
  • Try a known good working monitor, if the problem is not present, then it's clear that the monitor/LCD needs to be repaired or replaced.
  • Boot to BIOS and check if the lines are still there - if it is, then again the problem is attributed to the monitor/LCD.
After identifying the problem, my recommendation is to contact the manufacturer (or reseller) and check for warranty coverage (et. al).

I hope this helps, Thank you for using FixYa.

sounds like yo had the same Probles that I had with my 5200 geforce The install did not go well. what was happening was the direct x was binding to the old mother board graphics system and not the new card . to make it rebind just change the refresh rate in the nvidia icon in your task bar . disable the display adapter from device manager for the motherboard graphics .put the card in the slot change the montior cord boot up check you direct x by typing in run dxdiag and test directx to be sure it is runing with your card you can also see that fron the about nvidia you must have the driver for the card installed to do all this.. hope I helped

Screen goes to blue and has aqua lines.

Probably put the wrong drivers in. While the PC is booting , press F8 key to enter safe mode, and set the screen resolution to a basic 800x600 for starts, and then see if you can delete the driver. On the next bootup, the OS will then look for the driver, and you can use the original version.

Games problems

try to use a low version of a driver or download this detonator. it will operate only on some features of your video card it wont push the video card to the limit so that you wont experience any mixing color while playing in warcraft. by the way just adjust the configuration of your warcraft in video so that you will enjoy your game with no hassle. hope that helps!

For 9 months now, my 4+ yr old Dell 4600 has been

Hi, Thermal even is overheating - clean the machine from dust - possibly take it to a local repair shop to be fixed, possibly a heatsink might need to be replaced, wont cost much. check that all fans are spinning. Most likely covered in dust if the case has been closed for over 4 years.

The issue is not the computer monitor, don't replace it since its not the problem.

Either the cpu, mainboard or video card is overheating - thermal event. not a big problem. won't cost much to fix

My PC gets stuck...

Hey,
This could be a problem with the game's memory allocation. Try installing the latest patch for the game. You can find the patch in the official website of the game. Also try reducing the graphics quality by turning off anti aliasing.
Thanks
