Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. HiIt seems you tv set has an overload in the output supply line which may be caused by a shorted rectifier diode or a shorted horizontal output transistor and associated circuit. The set should be serviced.Sully

The lamp might be at the end of its life. Change the lamp.

The only way to diagnose this problem is to take the DVD out and inspect the take up rollers designed to take and eject the disc. If you hear sound when try to eject you may have a bad belt or the take up rollers are oxcided causing slipage during ejecting.

Weak capacitors are a very common thing. I would suspect that is your problem. It could be in the powersupply or Signal Board or in the inverters. Check with a tech!

This TV has no guns. It has a lamp and a color wheel.

I do not know what is causing the issue unfortunately.

It is a possibility, if the indicator lights are on it definitely means something is wrong in the light engine system, it could be your lamp, ballast, color wheel or dmd board, when it comes to LGs it's most probable that your lamp might go out. You can replaced it to see if it fixes your problem, if it doesn't, there's a chance it might be yoru ballast.

Looking at the television, on the lower right hand side is the ventilation opening. Remove the screws and then remove the cover. Inside the opening is the light bulb holding bracket that has a handle on it. Disconect the power wires (2) going to the bulb, remove the 3 screws holding the metal cover over the bulb and pull it out of opening. Then remove the screws holding the light bulb in place. Very simple and easy to replace.

The blinking should be in a pattern. When the set shutsdown because of a fault, the standby light will blink a code. This code should be a number of blinks followed by a 2-3 second pause then the code again. Please post that count as that will indicate the fault that was detected. Armed with that information, we should be able to provide you with an explanation of what is wrong and possible solutions for fix it.

Most likely you can have 1 or 2 problems.
1! the light is busted and you will have to replace that. You might also need to check your cooler fan bearing as you indicate it makes noise.

This is the Power Board for it. check those 6 electrolytic Capacitors on the right for bulging or splitting. Don't buy it blindly, it's a guess. It can't be done. The DVD remote will be single frequency for that device only and the LG remote for that LG Blu Ray (or series) only. Companies don't make cross-control between makers easy. The only exception is cable and satellite boxes to allow their remote to also control the television.
