Can't factory restore with dual boot system.

I run Windows 7 and also sometimes Fedora 16, Backtrack 5 and Ubuntu. Problem with reinstalling windows is it will write over the GRUB loader and you wont have linux there anymore. You are meant to have Windows first then install linux afterwards so you have the option of both. Backup any files that you need and reinstall Windows then reinstall Linux. Its too much effort and mucking around to do it the other way even though it can be done

1005ha bios update usb

Upgrading BIOS is dangerous and can cause fatal damage to your PC. If you are aware of that and decide to take this risk, then continute. 1. Visit http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us, search 1001HA and choose DOS as operating system. Download latest bios rom file. 2. Save and extract the downloaded file. You will get a rom file named like "1301.rom" 3. Format a usb pen drive to FAT-16 partition. In my case I used a 32 MB SD card which came with my old Kodak camera, and I used a SD card reader that PC can see it as a usb disk. Copy 1301.rom to its root folder and rename it to 1005HA.ROM. The reason for renaming it to 1005HA.ROM is that EZ Flash on this 1001HA netbook looks up rom with this name. If EZ flash failed saying trying to find a rom file with another name, just shutdown the netbook and rename your rom file to the required name and try again. 4. Plug in the usb pen drive and reboot the netbook. Make sure that during the ASUS splash screen, press ALT+F2. Then EZ Flash will run automatically and try to locate the usb drive and read from file 1005HA.ROM (in my case). 5. It takes around one minute for me to upgrade everything. DO NOT TURN OFF OR EVEN TOUCH YOUR NETBOOK DURING UPGRADE. Read the messages on the screen and when it says you can press the shutdown button, you can turn off your system. 6. Turn on your netbook again and enter BIOS to check if the BIOS version is up to date.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61awfpVe49k&feature=player_detailpage

Usb drive not working

I would say go into your Bios or System Setup and make sure your USB is enabled. If it is enabled, try a different USB Port. If it still does not work, I would try your USB Flash Drive or stick as you call it in another computer to make sure it's not defective. You get into the Bios or System Setup watching your screen to see which key to press when you first turn the machine on to boot.

Wd 11 error code:0xc0000034

The last line of your error message contains the solution: "You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disk or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer." Translation: Start up from the disk that came with your laptop and follow repair tool instructions (or contact the manufacturer to obtain a copy - which you may possibly need to purchase. If you are not under warranty this will possibly be at a reduced cost.) Look for a label on the bottom of your pc for a phone number for service if your equipment is not useable. Good luck!

Hello, Weird problem... situation may have nothing to do with what happened. Your hard drive may have core problems. I would run the BIOS diagnostics if able. Also, boot from the OS install DVD and get to a command prompt where you can run CHKDSK. Good Luck, Steve I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/steve_52488d61fac93877
