Since installing my netgear wireless dualband router WNDR3400, the only way I can turn my tower off is to unplg the power supply. Please help

your pc problems have nothing to do with your new router. Your pc sounds like the mobo is not sending a kill signal to the power supply. You can either re-flash you mobo bios or try a patch for windows. Most likely this is not a fixable problem as the cost to fix it will be as high as a new pc.

I forgot my password and want to know my password

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default username ("admin") and password (either "password" or "1234" depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings. if there is a small hole in the front or back of the router push a hair pin in to reset to factory settings

Signal strength

Check with your service provider. You may be in a fringe area or receiving a poor signal because of interference. If your router has the option to add an external antenna that may solve your problem.

Netgear wifi vs moto x phone

Step 1 hey can you login to your router of yes make sure your router is dhcp enabled, then on you phone kindly delete or forget your current wifi settings, then do a phone restart and register a wifi (connect to a new wifi spot) and try again. Step 2
  1. step%203.png If the page displays, you have Internet access. If the page does not display in a minute, see the "No Internet With New Router, Computer or Adapter: MAC Spoofing" article.
  2. Determine if the modem's IP address can be seen. In the router interface, go to the Status Page. For more information, see your router user manual. step%202.png If the modem's IP address cannot be seen, reboot the modem, router, and computer, in that order. Be sure to wait for each device to completely reboot before rebooting the next. If the modem's IP address is seen, and you stuill cannot access the Internet, you might have a problem with your browser's settings. Your security might be set too high for the Internet service you are trying to use, or your browser might be configured for a dial-up connection. In Internet Explorer you check this using Tools > Internet Options > Security > Default Level. If the slider is set to High, change it to Medium. Click Tools > Internet Options > Connections. If the radio buttons in the center are not dimmed, settings for a dial-up connection are being used.

All wireless products are slow

Hello, Your wireless router is to blame for this one. You need to raise it up as high as you possibly can, and also it needs to be placed in a spot with the least amount of interference or signal blockers in the way such as walls, ceilings, and floors between it and the wireless products requiring it to function! Another possibility is to add to the network another "ACCESS POINT" or wired to wireless router at the highest possible point if you cannot move the 1st router. A totally wireless router will work but it has to have a strong wireless signal (from the 1st router) to work properly. Good Luck! Rich Lilja

My internet keeps goin on

Never buy Netgear. They design product so it won't work unless you pay more for technical support. They told me the technicians during the 90 day warranty are not good enough to fix problems, so you can't get solution until warranty runs out and you have to pay extra!

How do i resolve DNS server issues

typically your router should pick that up automagically from your ISP. If the power failure reset your router to factory (unlikely) you will need to login to it and reset those settings. from a computer connected to that router run a dos console (type cmd in win 7 or 8 start menu or xp run menu) then run ipconfig, write down the gateway address and use internet explorer to browse to that address (type the address in the address bar). login to the router and look for the ISP settings and such. your ISP should be able to help with those settings. that failing use 8.8.8.8 (google) as a DNS server in your computer IP configuration.

My new HP desktop is asking for PIN of wireless

This router does not use any type of PIN. You may be confused as the HP wireless networking setup may be asking for the "password", or WPA2 key that secures the wireless network. This must be entered before the router will accept the client and assign it a network IP address. The WPA2 key is stored in the router under the Wireless Settings Option. Unfortunately, if you don't know the key, going there won't help you as the key is not visible.
