If you normally print on letter sized paper, then some program you are using is trying to print on A4 paper (PDF files often the culprit) and the default on most printers is that if they do not have the paper loaded it will ask for it from the MP tray. You can check your printer settings as you may be able to tell the printer to automatically sub letter paper when A4 is requested.

I get this problem sometimes. The quick answer is to put a large 'bulldog clip' around the stack of paper, and feed in one sheet by hand. When the sheet is almost printed feed in the next sheet. The long term solution often is to service the 'rubber' paper feeds that get covered in dust. Use a damp cloth and press against one roller at a time, rotating a bit at a time. Not as easy as it sounds! Then use a bit of fine 'sand' paper to remove the shiny surface on the roller(s) and wipe clean again.

The 2900 driver should work for the 2900E. The problem may be that there is a:

Turn every thing off including the printer and the computer. then turn on the PC then turn on the printer then plug in the printer after it is on.

Hi there: The main cause of slow printing is due to a bad print cartridge. To troubleshoot this please remove one of your cartridges and see if your printing speeds up. If that does not work. Replace the cartridge and remove the other cartridge. If your printing speeds up. That print cartridge is at fault.

Plenty of places to look at as you give me no clues! Is the power light on? If not check the power lead and power point. Is the toner OK? Is the paper OK and the paper feed working? Look in the Printer Properties for a Virtual USB port; an LPT1 port is a parallel port, seldom included on newer computers. The software CD should have installed a USB port, and associated the printer with that port.
