My samsung galaxy s 4g will turn on but then just vibrates with a blank screen. I tried to reset it with volume down+ power but the reset menu doesn't come up

do this to wipe partition cache

Turn off the phone
Note: If the phone will not power down, remove the battery and reinsert it.
Hold the Volume Up, Volume Down and Power Key simultaneously.
Release the keys when the Android recovery screen appears.
Press the Volume Down key to highlight Wipe Cache Partition.
Press the Power key or Home key (this varies based on the software version of your phone) to select.
The phone will display Cache Wipe Complete after a few seconds.
Press the volume keys to highlight Reboot System Now.
Press the Power key to select.

i advise you to back up everything first before doing master reset

Check for setting>privacy>pattern to lock and unlock.

Its a pattern lock hence you need to remember the pattern you are using while creating the lock, easy if you use the first letter of your name.

I have a samsung galaxy phone and it keeps

Try clearing the RAM. Go to 'Applications' then find an app called 'Task Manager' (it is preinstalled). Click the 'RAM manager' menu on top then select 'Level 1' then press 'Clear memory'. if it still lagging, select 'Level 2', then 'Clear memory'. That should do the trick. Cheers.

you can not track your phone unless you have something special set up with it, and since you are asking, no you can not find it or track it easily, you can report it stolen to police and your service provider, so the phone can no longer be used at all. it will be blacklisted as stolen.

How to reset my samsung

METHOD TO RESET GALAXY

STEP 1: Switch off your phone, remove its battery, and then place it back.

STEP 2: Now, hold the Volume Down button and Power button. And then release the Power button while still holding the Volume Down button.

STEP 3: Now you will get a list of options to choose from. Which would be like:

Fastbook
Recovery
Clear Storage
Simlock

STEP 4: There, choose the Clear Storage option.

NOTE: Use Volume UP and Volume Down keys for navigation and Power or Home button for selection.

STEP 5: Now confirm by pressing Volume Up button (YES) or Volume Down (NO).

That is it! Now, you Galaxy S will reboot and you will find that you have reset your Galaxy S to factory settings.

I have locked my screen

Sounds fishy if you ask me. Because anyone with android/google account knows that you can pretty much control your phone from your google account on a computer.

So if you don't know the password to the google account which will unlock your phone. Makes me think it's not really your phone.

And if it is. Try the password reset for gmail, get into the account, then unlock your phone.
