KitchenAid Batch Feed Garbage Disposal KBDS100T - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Kbds100t will not start
It is possible that themachine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or feedback fromthe inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller mustinitiate the INLET/PUMP MOTOR/DRAIN to workwhen it is commanded .If this does not happen then the voltage at thesepoints must be checked or the faultrelates to no voltage/drive from the controller. This means the controller is asuspect.Check howto remove the control panel:
http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/dishwashers/a/3/1287/how-to-replace-a-hotpoint-dishwasher-fascia-p.html If thewater flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or thereis dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Whatis most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switchmust be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting themotor. The water pressure must be good and the spraying must be seen to begood. If there is low pumping or pressure then the spray arms will not turnaround to inject with pressure. If sothe pump must be checked for clogging. To replacecheck this link:

Hello,
Welcome to FixYa.
I'll start by saying I'm a little confused, it sounds like you are speaking of a dishwasher, yet it is posted under Garberators/Food diposers. I'm going to go with dishwasher since what you've described sounds like a sump/chopper cover.
I think the manner I can be most helpful is to provide a link which provides a pretty good video of how to do this, these guys aren`t pro`s but the "how to" video is pretty thorough nonetheless. Then you can clarify anything through me. ( since I'm on my iphone you might have to copy & paste the link though )
