of course yes, the cord can be replaced.
Remove the overheated cord, take it to any electrical part stores in your area and have it replaced. This time make sure you buy a ticker wire with a 15amp socket/plug.
You can also order for it online from best-buy, Walmart, etc...

No parts are available for Nesco products, they don't sell them to parts retailers or repair shops - all repairing must be done thru them, at great cost.
But before spending a lot of money you should find out if the unit is still fixable - open it (unscrew the bottom) to access the parts and using a simple multimeter find out if the heating resistance is still continuous and not shorted to the ground. If it's broken or shorted then the unit is dead - not worth repairing - for the same money you can buy a new one.
If the resistance is ok then check the power cable - if it's ok then the thermostat is faulty. Another one from a different unit can be adapted by a good repairman, if you will not be able to find an original one and the shipping costs are too high.
