I reversed polarity when installing new battery
Would like clarification. Is the engine turning over at all? Is the starter pinion engaging? The electric start circuit is totally separate from the ignition circuit and will not affect the running of the engine at all.
How to remove pto on husqvarna lawn tractor
There is a wiring harness plug on the back side of the PTO switch, simply remove the plug, squeeze the two tabs holding the PTO in the dash and slide it out the front side. Reverse for install. ** Disconnect battery cable to be safe.
I have a yth2448 , and when I engage the mower
Disconsolate the connector from the clutch. Engage the clutch circuit and see if electrical circuit still response as if shorted.
If the response is the same check wiring, switch and relay. Replace/repair defecrive component.
If the response is no problem check the clutch. Inspect the connector at the clutch for broken failed wire connection. Using an ohm meter check for short. The expected resistance is about 3 -4 ohms. If the resistance is less then 1 ohm the PTO clutch is bad. Sorry. It is the solenoid coil has an internal short. Confirm if the clutch is still in warranty.

This is not something for the novice. The clutch, if not properly installed or repaired can explode and cause personal and property damage. I would suggest the authorized dealer to make this repair.

How could gas be entering the crankcase of my Husqvarna 48" riding lawn mower?
Sounds like you have a hole 'burnt' in the piston top allowing fuel combustion mixture (normally compressed above the piston) getting down into the crankase or that the piston rings are shot allowing the same thing.
As the piston is continuously moving, the reverse happens giving oil at the intake or carb.
. Looks like a strip down, good inspection and rebuild of engine required .

I have a Robin or as they call it now Subaru engine with this same problem when it stopped the petrol flow into the crankcase. The fuel tap close it when finished and put the engine on TDC then no problem anymore. Check the tap if it REALLY closes as tge only other problem I had was dirt in the carburettor. I cured this with an inline fuel filer
Won't Fully Engage Drive Gears
If the machine has been sitting idle for a period of time it is probable that the cutter spindles have failed / rusted bearings. They suffer from wet grass/ water seepage when working and when let stand idle for a time will rust up the balls in the bearings. Loosen the drive belts and see if the cutters can be turned freely by hand .
