Sending Confirmation
This report shows the fax number, the number of pages, elapsed time of
the operation, the communication mode, and the communication results.
You can set up your machine to print the message confirmation report in
one of the following ways (see page 5.3):
• Automatically after each transmission (ON)
• Automatically only if an error occurs during transmission (ERR)
• No report printed at all (OFF). You can print this report manually at
any time you want.
SENDING CONFIRM - A confirmation report shows whether the
transmission was successful or not, how many pages were sent, etc.
Select ON to print a confirmation report automatically each time you
send a fax.
Select OFF to turn this feature off.
Select ERROR to print only when an error occurs and the transmission
was not successful.

The current time and date are shown on the display when the machine is on and ready for use (standby mode). The time and date are printed on all faxes you send.
Note: If power to the machine is cut off for over 30 minutes, when power is restored, the machine prompts you to reset the time and date.
1. Press Setup. The display shows the first setup menu; FAX NUMBER/NAME.
2. Press left arrow or right arrow until 'TIME/DATE SETUP' appears, then press
Start/Enter. The display asks you to choose a date format.
3. Press Start/Enter.
4. Press left arrow or right arrow until you find the desired date format, then press
Start/Enter.
If you select USA, the time and date appears in the order of month, day, then year. The EUROPE format will be displayed in the order of day, month, then year.
The display shows the currently set time and date using the selected date format.
5. Enter the correct time and date using the number keypad.
Day = 01~31
Month = 01~12
Year = four digits
Hour = 00~23
Minute = 00~59
You can also use left arrow or right arrow to move the cursor under the digit you want
to correct, then enter a new number.
6. Press Start/Enter when the time and date on the display is correct. If you enter an invalid number, the machine beeps and does not proceed to the next step. If this happens, just reenter the correct number.
The display shows the time and date you have set, then returns to
Standby mode.

If you can not send or receive faxes the machine most likely is not getting a dial tone.
Start by unplugging the telephone cable from the machine and from the wall jack and then plug it back in. Make sure you are reconnecting the telephone cable to the correct jack on the fax machine.

If this does not help, try using a different telephone cable or try connecting to a different wall jack.

If there is still no dial tone and the machine does not work, I recommend trying it in a completely different location. If this still does not work then you can safely say that the machine is broken.

You probably have a bad LIU (line input unit) which is mounted on the main board.
There are 2 varieties of this part 1) JC92-01155A or 2) JC92-01192A, so you will need to match the number on your existing board.

If you have a fuser error then you have most likely lost a component in the fuser section such as the thermostat, thermal fuse or maybe even the fusing lamp itself...if you cant take it apart then you will need a repair man to do it as well as parts.

Unplug the fax machine from the line. Plug a normal phone, preferably not a cordless set, into the line and check if the line is still noisy. If it is still noisy have the phone company test and repair the line. If it is not noisy check the connecting cord between the phone jack and fax for damage. The cord can be replaced with one from a normal phone to see if this solves the problem. If the line checks out normal and the problem persists even with the cord replaced the fax will need repair, most likely to the internal lightning arrestor which is not a user-serviceable part.

If the Toner Low/Empty message does not automatically clear when a new cartridge is installed, use the following to clear the message manually:
1.Press MENU # 1 9 3 4. The machine should display TECH.
2.Press MENU, and ENTER. The machine should display TECH Mode.
3.Press the left arrow < once. The machine will show NEW CARTRIDGE.
4.Press ENTER, the machine will show YES.
5.Press ENTER, there should not be any Toner Low/Empty message.
6.Exit TECH MODE, press MENU # 1 9 3 4. The machine will no longer display TECH.
If Toner Low/Empty message continues, there may be a problem with the toner cartridge or the machine.

Download the appropriate driver for your operating system then run the exe file and follow the on screen instructions.

check the on hook button hasnt been accidently pressed as it is looking to hook up to an extension phone exchange line

i can't tell you step-by-step how to fix as i don't know this particular model well, but i can tell you that you need to check your machines internal paper settings and most of all, make sure your "auto reduction" is set to "on".

This means that the heater element in the device has blown.

You will need a technician to fix this.

Thank you for your email. we solved the problem by finding and removing a flower bud that fell into the area where the paper feeds through. The fax machine is working 100% now.

Hade the same problem it is the main board. We do not get it any more in Namibia. hade sume scrap. If you make a copy do it work?

Might need the bezel that holds the display in place changed. This is generally a job for the office equipment tech.
