The wire is already damage specially the other end that goes trough the iron try to replace the wire or you can trace the damage wire using a continuity tester then cut the damage wire then try to connect the other half it is usually screwed in the heating element. There is an issue with the irons thermostat. You will need to buy a new clothing iron.

To open the Rowenta Superpress 050 iron, you should first unplug the iron from the power source for safety. Then, locate the water reservoir button on the top of the iron. To try and seal the water leak will possibly render the appliance dangerous. I would speak to Rowenta and ask the question. They may well extend the warranty if you suggest it wasn't used for say a few weeks after purchase etc.

We’re u able to fix this ? I am facing similar issues after my wife forgot to shut it off and the auto shut off might have triggered but now it doesn’t Heat up even though I the light comes on
