either the heating element used to defrost is bad or there is usualty a small inline thermal fuse replace it test the elements resistance is aok look on ebay for a new inline fuse and also element save the grief of testing

mine was doing this, i replaced the main board and power supply, it was still doing. i checked all the sensors and still didnt fix the problem, i then looked at the ice maker, there is a sensor on the ice maker that has two white wires off it, i used a jumper wire and touched them together at the plug in the freezer and it started working like it should, now i have to order a new sensor from what i can tell. part number DA97-00258E to replace the ice maker.

Some refrigerators have a circulation fan that blows into the refrigerated section. If yours is designed like this, it will be a blower separate from the coil fan and likely harder to access. I suspect the bearings on that blower are dirty or damaged.

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very,very carefully.

Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
The cold control is the knob in the ref that turns it on and off and has numbers on it. (Thermostat)
If it runs then that cold control (Thernostat) is the problem.
If that doesn't work DO THIS:
The relay on the compressor may need replaced
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
Thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
also try hooking the two wires together on the cold control to route around the cold control.

This sometimes happens with my KitchenAid ice maker.Usually there is a piece of ice stuck on the side where the sensor is that causes the ice to drop. I usually carefully chip away at any ice that is stuck. Once the stuck ice is removed, the ice maker works fine.

Verify that the compressor fan is working. The fan is located behind the unit at the bottom. You need to remove tha back panel and observe that the fan is working while the compressor is running.

Check the freezer temperature. It must be below 10F in order for the Icemaker to operate. If you find that the temperature is above that, your problem is not the icemaker, but something else in your cooling system.
