Left control buuton, delete and home buttons are not working from today all of a sudden. How do I solve it?
Hi Anonymous,
My name is Pradeep and I work for Dell's Social Media Team.
Please turn off the system and unplug only the power cable. Press and hold the power button for 15
seconds. Plug in the power cable. let us know the status.
Please clean the system air vents using canned air.
Here are the steps:
1.Check the vents on the computer to see if they are covered with dust and not allowing heat and air
to pass through.
2.Turn off the System.
3.Unplug the AC Adapter.
4.Remove the Battery.
5.Use Compressed Air to blow the dust out of the vents
Please restart the system in safe mode and let us know the status.
Please go ahead and power off this system and when you power it on at the Dell logo, keep tapping the F2
key repeatedly for 3-4 times this will take you to the system set up. Press F9 to load defaults. Save and
exit setup.

B n and space bar keys are not working
krishna,
You can try popping them off and blowing the dust accumulated from underneath. If that does not work you may need to replace the keyboard.
Thank You,

Key board lock and not working
Look for a Fn key, and note the color. Now look for a symbol that looks like a keyboard. Press the Fn key + the key with the symbol. That should enable the keyboard.
While installing my wireless driver in my dell vostro 1015 laptop i face an error " QMI module not exist? " any help?
On a dell they have either a hardware switch or a ALT-? key combination to turn the wireless on, normally it's a hw switch on the front or one of the sides with an antenna symbol. Look at the color of your ALT key and then look for the Antenna symbol or wifi symbol, Either of them should toggle the power to the wifi card.
also you can hit the windows key and look on the right side of the pop-up and find the computer link, right click on it and open properties then Device Manager, look for anything with a Yellow Triangle on it It may say Unknown Network adapter, right click on it and select properties, and then the driver tab, click update driver and explore and find the C:\Dell\drivers or c:\drivers directory and reload your wifi driver. Good Luck

Error code 0146 what does it mean?
This is indicative of a hard drive problem:
A user may report they receive an 0141, 0142, 0146 or a 0151 HDD (Hard Disk Drive) error on their Dell Desktop or Laptop system.
The Hard Drive may still continue to work but there may be other issues that could manifest themselves as an intermittent failure to boot to Windows, a slow system or noise from the Hard Drive.
If possible, before carrying out any troubleshooting steps on the Hard Drive, please make sure you have a verified working and up to date backup of your data
You could run the built-in diagnostic tool to determine specific HD problems, using this procedure:
To run the Enhanced Pre-boot System Assessment (ePSA) diagnostics, perform the steps below:
- Restart the computer.
- As the computer boots, press <F12> when the Dell Splash Screen appears.
- At the One Time Boot menu, press the <Down> arrow key to highlight Diagnostics and press <enter>
- A graphical menu listing all discovered devices in the system is now displayed.
- Select Hard Drive and click Run Tests to start diagnostics.
On 5 sec after off laptops
You could try to start the computer in safe mode, to see if this is driver issue. When starting computer, press down F8 and select safe mode startup. If monitor works in safemode, try to reinstall display driver.
Also you could check with external monitor, to isolate where the issue is related to. If external monitor works fine, it might be HW problem with your laptop monitor.
