My camera seems to work fine, but when I tried to
You might have a problem with your Memory card. Try to use a different memory card or format the memory card you have in the camera settings. Keep in mind you will loose your data if you format the memory card. Good luck.
Your question doesn't tell much details. Try to be more specific with what camera you are using (brand, model number). Maybe brand or model of memory card might be useful too.
I have a Cyber-shot DSW-W310
I would take the battery back sometimes the board that's in the chip does not tell the camera that its been installed, batteries send information like voltage and also its make but if it does not send this info it will not work the camera will only work with recommended batteries.

Cybershot got wet
I think you have to look for a new camera. Sometimes you can save an electronic apparatus, after it became wet, by drying it for several days in a bag off rice. (or some other stuff like cilia gel). But when you have switched the thing on and it does not work as expected, when the water did not damage it, then certainly a current on the wrong place did. Sony does not handle water in camera as a warranty issue.
My dsc-w310 wont connect on my computer, it says switch on usb mass storage which is on? what to do?
Sometimes it is easier to remove the memory card from your camera and connect directly using a card reader. Modern computers often have a card reader built in for the popular cards like and SD card. Sony often have 'Sony Memory Stick' cards. This would usually mean you have to purchase a card reader separately unless it is a Sony laptop. Card readers are less than 10 GBP each often only 5 GBP. Connect card reader cable to a USB port open windows explorer or my computer, create a new folder on your computer and then click and drag the photos from the card reader to the folder on your computer.
It says memory card locked
Look at your memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
Memory card locked in the
Eject the memory card .. And you will find a small button, that can slide, on the memory card .. Just slide it to another direction and use .. This will work for sure ..! Its the write protection switch for the memory card.
"turn the power on and off again" appears whenever
Hello
The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the
probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.
Use
these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.
Firstly ,
try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.
Try holding the
shutter button while switching on the camera.
Look at the lens ,
and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then
try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).
Try gently
pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may
cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.
Another
way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and
then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to
not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and
down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the
camera is enough to get things going again.
Try hitting your
camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of
your hand.
Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair centre for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to
replace the camera.
If it is still under warranty I would suggest
you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any
off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about
warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need
