The MAC address is the unique identifier for your network device. You can try to add the MAC address directly to your WiFi router in case someone turned this feature on you router. To see your MAC go to "Settings - Wi Fi - Options Button - My MAC address".

Not a real technical solution but if the original battery is still being used then there is a chance the battery is not holding the charge. I've had this issue in the past with a Motorola Droid and after the battery was replaced it held on for a few days instead of a couple of hours. Depending on phone use and charging methods older batteries will not hold a charge for long. I would recommend trying to get a battery saver app from the Google Play store to see if it helps as well.
