This problem is typically found in the control board circuit. Probably the 1000MFD 16V Capacitor on the DC side of the PCB may be at fault. The Fix is to replace the capacitor which can be purchased at any Radio Shack for about $2.00. Procedure is to de-solder the the bad component and solder the replacement. This is a polarized component so pay attention the polarity when installing. Test the fix; Properly reinstall the PCB wiring, and Enjoy your Chilled Wine. Recardo.

I sounds to me like the compressor is overheating. There is an overload on the compressor itself. Follow the wires where they go into the compressor. There will be a black wire going from the power cord to the overload. These can be purchased at appliance parts stores. Make sure there is no dirt build up on condenser coils or a kink in the tubing.

You can fix this for $5. You can confirm the problem by taking the back off and see of the red and green led on the circuit board are flashing. They will be steady if the board is ok. The fan is usually just rocking too like it is trying to start. The part is a capacitor and is $5, but you will need to be able to remove and solder this part on the circuit board. Ok check the power supply input. Assume you have do e that and all ok. More than likely it could be a thermostat or compressor gas leakage. Has the compressor been running more than usual before it gave up working. Check for rust on the internal coils as sometimes they fail. Depending on what you paid for the wine cooler it may be cheaper to simply replace it. Can highly recommend Delongi 145 litre bar fridge, after replacing several cheaper brands and it is very reliable and cools really well though they are not at the cheap end of the market. You get what you pay for with appliances. Best of luck resolving the problem but if the wine cooler no longer is getting cold but the compressor continues to run, you can bet that it's out if gas from a leak in the internal pipe work and generally not worth attempting to either locate and or repair.

I have a different model Vinotemp, but experienced the same exact problem described here where the LEDs on the controller board blinks and there is a clicking or chirping noise. It turns out there was a bad electrolytic capacitor on the controller board that was visibly noticeable (it was bulging). Replacing the capacitor fixed the problem. On my model, it was a 1000 microfarad 16v cap, available at RadioShack or any store that sells electronic components for less than $1. Of course, you will need some soldering skills for this fix.

Step 1:It's most likely the PTC (Positive Temperature Compensated) start relay that turns the compressor on and off. The manufacturer has replaced part number P6R8MC with part number 6R8MG for this PTC start relay. Order part number 6R8MG, it cost less than $20 from AppliancePartsProFirst, unplug the wine cooler and take off the back panel. The back panel is held into place with several philips head screws.Step 2:Locate the compressor. You'll find the compressor in the bottom left corner of the VT-60 as viewed from the back. You will see copper tubes coming out of the compressor. These tubes carry the compressed refrigerant to the evaporator assembly. Be careful not to crimp or damage the copper tubing.Step 3:Find the black plastic cover to the left of the compressor. This cover is held into place with one philips head screw. Remove the screw and remove the cover to find the PTC start relay.Step 4:The relay is connected to the compressor by a single blade connector and two pins which protrude from the compressor. Remove the blade connector and pull the PTC relay to the left, sliding it off the pins attached to the compressor. Step 5:Slide the relay on the connector pins, reattach the blade connector, reattach the black pastic cover over the relay, reattach the back panel onto the VT-60 and you're done.

is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very,very carefully.
First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if FREEZER CONTROL is turned WARMER WHICH MAKES THE REF COLDER AND VICE-VERSA. SEE?
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
But is probably a common defrost problem The ice build up
is not being melted by the defrost system.The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater,heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Make sure back cover is on the fridge. Some take them off and throw them away.
make one out of cardboard if its gone, using the holes of the old one.

The effects of compressor burnout are serious if not done correctly and in most cases burnout will return if the Technician did not do his job correctly for the type of compressor and the oil it uses. If not done correctly the burnout will return again because of residual acid will remain in the oil and cause the same to happen again. I believe your best solution is to start again and call Wine Cabinets.com at 1-877-447-8700 and ask for their thoughts. Quality cost in the first but is much less problems in the end. This unit uses a thermoelectric element to generate the cooling, not a compressor. Because of that its temperature setting is extremely sensitive and the fans must be fully operational.
The blinking of the light signals that the temperature setting cannot be maintained because a component failure has occurred. The most likely part to have failed is one of the fans so you will have to inspect them both and replace if necessary. If they are ok then you will have to check the thermistor and the control board, in which everything else plugs in.
A basic knowledge of electronics is required for that, if you don't have it then ask someone you know to help you. Calling Vinotemp is out of the question , the bill would be higher than the price of a new cooler.

It is quite possible an internal fuse on the cooler has open circuite.
Try plugging in a desk lamp into the wall socket. If that works then you will need to get a technician to check your cooler for you
