Washer wont drain He5t code f21

Hello Tina, welcome to FixYa. This is a general remedy for the F21 error on most Whirlpool made front-load machines, such as Whirlpool, Kenmore, Maytag, Amana etc. For a more detailed explanation follow the link to my blog provided here.http://fixedappliance.blogspot.com/2011/11/whirlpoolkenmoremaytag-more-f02f21-sd.html**Turn off the breaker at the service panel or unplug the washer from the wall socket...safety first**1) locate the screws in front at the very bottom of the panel below the door and pull the panel down and forward until it is off. They will be either 1/4" hex head or #20 torx head screws.2) You will immediately see the drain pump in front of you with a large removable filter. ( **see image below...this is were a wet-dry shop vac and towels come in handy, also the use of the removed panel as a catch pan is beneficial...but you may still get wet ) b3f3b21.jpg 3) Turn it counter-clockwise should allow you to remove it and inspect it and clean it out. Make a good thorough inspection inside the pump as well not just the removable filter.4) Re-insert the filter and before placing the panel back run a test rinse/drain cycle to inspect for leaks and to verify the unit drains and spins now. ( If the problem still exist`s the Sd or "F2" or "F21" will re-appear. If so you`ll need to check the hose/rubber bellows from pump to tub...back-flow ball...for other obstructions ).5) If all appears OK after your efforts, well your efforts paid off...pat yourself on the back. You just saved yourself potentially a couple hundred bucks ! Now You should be good to go. Re-attach the lower panel and you`re back in business.**NOTE: if this still fails to remedy the Sd, F2, F21 or if it returns immediately during the next drain you may require a pump unfortunately...part # 280187 available at "searspartsdirect.com" "repairclinic.com" etc. **This however can also be caused by the back-flow ball inside the bellows which connects the tub to the pump. There is a large clamp which secures it to the tub, but if you remove it to clean out all the dirt built up inside, make sure you get it good and secure when putting it back.** b0ac102.jpg 02d1e9d.jpg Thanks for choosing FixYa. F35 (on some models)

themobilian_2214.jpg

ANALOG PRESSURE SENSOR FAILURE
If this failure is displayed, there is any malfunction of the steamer
component detected by the Steamer Electronic Board.

Possible Causes/Procedure
Check if pressure hose is fixed correctly.
Check if the airtrap is not blocked.
Check if the hose is not blocked.

Make sure you are ONLY using HE SOAP!
Correct usage amounts are as follows:

Regular HE SOAP = 2 Tablespoons
2X HE SOAP = 1 Tablespoon
3X HE SOAP = 1 Teaspoon

The information on the soap usage comes directly from Whirlpool Tech Line.

SUDS LOCK (OVERDOSE OF DETERGENT DETECTED DURING THE
WASH CYCLE)

If suds are detected continuously by the pressure switch during the drain
or spin phases, the washer will fi ll 4 liters of water and during 5 minutes
the unit will rest without tumbling, the water will be drained and it will try
to spin or drain again.

Possible Causes/Procedure

If too much detergent was used:
Run through a RINSE/SPIN cycle.
Run a NORMAL cycle without adding any detergent.
This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
Unplug washer or disconnect power.
Check wire harness connections to the drain pump, pressure switch,
and Central Control Unit (CCU).
Check/clean drain pump filter of foreign objects.
Plug in washer or reconnect power.
Check drain pump.
Check the pressure switch.
Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic Test or any cycle. If you need further help, reach me via phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/dan_73bbd84fe1d95b61

I keep getting a code F21 how do I unclog the

There is a strainer on the drain pump that is clogged. The manual does not mention this at all, it merely states the drain hose is kinked or clogged.

Under the front door there is a panel that is the width of the machine and is held in place by two screws, one on either side.

When you remove that you will see the pump and the the strainer attached to it. Unscrew the strainer (put a small pan under it to catch excess water) and remove to remove the junk accumulated.

-or- you'll need to replace the pump.

Also, attached to the panel is another manual that refers to the error codes you are seeing.

I get "Sud" display and

The F35 indicates that the main control board detects a problem with the analog pressure sensor (water level pressure switch) in the washer. This component senses and controls water level in the washer. This failure could be caused by a pinched or broken air hose between the air trap at the bottom of the washer tub and the analog pressure sensor. It can also be caused by a clogged air trap or a failed analog pressure sensor. If you are able to unplug the washer and pull off the top panel, you can check for the probable cause of this failure.

To remove the top panel, remove the screws on the very back of the panel that secure it to the washer cabinet. Pull the top panel back slightly and then and off of the washer. It is on the side wall just behind the expansion control board. You can check the air pressure hose connection and the wire harness connection on this component.

This component costs around $99.This information was based on the general description of the washer model that you provided (Kenmore Elite front load washer). There are several different models of this washer.

The following link explains the error in more detail and how to correct: http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608687-sud_error NOTE: If these preliminary measures do not correct your problem, you may have to replace the drain pump. It does not take much to damage the pump impeller or motor. Since the error code can be generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes, if the pump is damaged and can't pump at the required volume, the error code will continue to appear until the pump is replaced.

The he5t have an F20

Hi,

Click here for the place that I use

I like these guys because they will take the part back no questions asked if you get the wrong part or even find out that the part you purchased is not the problem...

As you can see you will have to check the full model number and then look up the correct part for your machine as there are several MCU's listed here for a he5t...

I am getting a code

Hi F21 error means that the drain time has exceeded 8 minutes; this will turn off the water valves. Press PAUSE/CANCEL two times to clear the display. If errors still remains then please check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked. Disassemble the washer by removing the back from the washer and check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is draining. Also inspect the pump filter for foreign objects. Before disassembling remember to turn off the power and disconnect the washer. If it still doesn't help then there is an issue with the pump and you'll need to replace it. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information. Daniel

On a kenmore elite HE5t

There are 2 5/16 screws on the bottom of the front panel. Remove those screws to access the filter. Remember on the boot between the door and the drum, the boot is just pressed in on the door side and held onto the drum by a tension spring that come off and goes on very tight.
Good Luck!

Ok sorry i misunderstood your question...to actually remove the pump go through the same process to remove all the water from the washer, then in the front of the pump at the bottom of that cleanout will be a torx headed screw remove that screw and squeeze the hose clamps for the 2 hoses to the pump and remove those hoses .you can then pull the pump out alittle so ya can reach the back of it to unplug it...after unplugging it the pump will come out completly from the machine where ya can check the nozzles on it/hoses into/out of it

Codes SUDS and F35 appear. unable to use washer.

This point to a pressure switch issue. If you remove the top panel, three screws in the back, you will have access to the pressure switch. With the tub empty, remove the vinyl hose from the switch and blow backwards through the hose to clear any restrictions. If the fault codes return after diong this, you will likely need to replace the pressure switch. Part number W10156252 (click image)
