Frigidaire Affinity FAFW3511K Washer Questions & Answers
What e59 means
Hello Ninemi,
I see that you are receiving an E59 on your Frigidaire Affinity washer. E59 states that "No Tacho" Signal for 3 seconds. I would recommend giving the appliance a hard reset. You will do this by either unplugging it or switching the circuit breaker off that the washer is attached to. When you do this you will want to leave it off for 3-5 minutes. Once the 3-5 minutes has elapsed, bring power back to the washer and try to restart it. If you are still receiving an E59 error code, I would suggest contacting your local authorized technician to diagnose and see why you keep receiving this error code.

FRIGIDAIRE FAFS4474L IS PAUSE
Hello Radwan, thank you for allowing me to assist you! Error
code "PAU" usually means that the door is not securely latched or the cycle has
been interrupted. Try pressing "PAUSE/CANCEL" or "START/PAUSE" once to resume
washer. If proves to be ineffective, try reprogramming the appliance by unplugging
it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten
minutes and turn the unit on. If the issue persists, then the appliance could
possibly have a faulty door latch or experiencing a communication error with
the control board. I would personally contact a professional to accurately
diagnose the washer to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of
unnecessary parts.
Pause
Hi Lisa - Often when "PAU" displays on the screens, it
indicates that the unit thinks that the door is not securely latched or the
cycle has been interrupted. Try pressing "PAUSE/CANCEL" or "START/PAUSE" once
to resume washer. If proves to be ineffective, try reprogramming the unit by
unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately
ten minutes and then turn the washer back on. If resetting the power does not
correct the issue, then more than likely the unit has a faulty door latch or a
communication error with the control board. I would personally contact a
professional to accurately diagnose the washer to determine the root cause to
reduce the risk of unnecessary parts.
Drum is hard to turn
Good Morning Gary - Try rotating the drum manually when the unit is turned off. If you notice that the drum is not balanced and cannot rotate freely, then you could possibly have a problem with the belt, front (and/or rear) bearing, or a loose connection with the motor/drum. Regrettably, this is not a simple DIY job. Generally, qualified technicians often perform these complicated part replacements. If I was in your position, I would personally suggest contacting a professional to accurately assist with the repair or installation of the part.
What does 18 h pause mean on my washer ? We have
Hi Steph from retired Englishman in SW France,
(no promises but it's worth carrying this out anyway!)
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Following are my complete and generic guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

My Frigidaire Affinity washer makes a loud buzzing sound when you push the start button and will not start, what can I do
Good Morning Anonymous, this is Z. I am happy to assist you!
I understand that your door indicates it is open and your dryer will not operate. Let's attempt resetting your dryer by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. It is good to wait approximately ten minutes and turn on your dryer. Select a normal cycle and verify if your dryer will start. If your dryer will not operate then it possibly have a faulty door lock assembly or a communication problem with the control board. At this point, it would be advisable to contact an experienced appliance repair tech to assist further.
