The diagnostic function will not help you if your user interface board (UIB) is acting up because to put into diagnostic you have to select drain spin, then the no spin option, and hit the prewash button 4 times.

It sounds like your UIB is the problem.

we ended up holding the drain/spin button for a period of 15 or so seconds and the issue resolved.

my Kenmore elite h3 washer just quit working. It doesn't turn on at all. what could the problem be?

Hard Reset - In some cases the control can be non-functioning or may not accept activation from the control panel. To clear and restart the control follow the these steps:

* Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.
* Reconnect the unit to the power source by turning the breaker back on or plugging the unit back into the wall outlet.
* Press the Pause/Cancel/Stop button twice to clear the "PF" in the display.
* Start a short cycle to check the operation of the machine by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the machine starts.

To find the cubic volume, get a tape measure or yardstick. Measure from the back of the tub to thee front lip, note the inches. Then measure the diameter of the tub, top to bottom of door should be close.

Multiply the 2 measurements. Divide the product by 144. the result will give you cubic feet.

EXAMPLE: back to front of tub 30 inches X 20 inches diameter of tub = 4.16 cubic feet of space..

the problem is the oil seal from the shaft to the tub,need to change it!

your mach depending on model and cycle selected has a 3 to 5min "add a garment" feature.that means in the 1st 3-5mins of cycles when add a garment light is lit you may hit pause button once and the mach will stop and unlock door.after add a gament light is off,if u hit pause the cycle the mach will drain water and reset cycle..hope this helps
