Hi, well first try resetting the breaker, and see if this clears it. if not, then most likely you will find that the temperature sensor or thermistor has gone faulty, as this is the commonest cause of any oven spontaneously stopping altogether. But to be able to service it and buy the exact part and replace it, will require a service manual, these are available online. Once obtained, it shows one how to disassemble and also then one can ascertain the parts required for replacement.
However as a professional I really must advise you to call a serviceman, as this will most likely be the safest, cheapest, and least hassle of the options. As there may be a serious underlying problem too..
Oven shuts down
My mother-in-law's oven was doing the same thing. At first it was actually turning completely off which led me to think it was a loose connection on the circuit board. That turned out to be exactly what it was. I had to dismantle the front of the oven, remove the circuit board, and resolder the connections. The first time I did this I must have missed a few bad joints and that's when it started doing what you described (shuting off and showing lock door). I pulled it back apart and found a few more bad solder joints which I fixed; so far so good. This is of course one of those "don't try this at home" fixes but it least lets you know what is causing the problem.
Why does my Kenmore oven 790.7343312 randomly turn off?
There are several reasons why your Kenmore oven model 790.7343312 may be randomly turning off. Here are some possible causes:
- Power supply issues: Check if the oven is properly plugged in and if there are any issues with the power outlet or circuit breaker. Loose connections or faulty wiring can also cause power supply issues.
- Temperature sensor problems: The temperature sensor is responsible for regulating the oven's temperature. If it's malfunctioning, it can cause the oven to turn off randomly. You can check the sensor with a multimeter or call a professional to diagnose and fix the problem.
- Faulty control board: The control board controls the oven's various functions, and a malfunctioning one can cause the oven to turn off unexpectedly. Again, you can use a multimeter to check the control board's voltage output or seek professional help.
- Overheating: Overheating can cause the oven to shut down as a safety measure. Check if the oven's ventilation system is functioning correctly, and remove any obstructions that may be blocking the airflow.
- Malfunctioning oven door switch: If the oven door switch is malfunctioning, it can cause the oven to shut down randomly. Check if the switch is working correctly, and replace it if necessary.
We have a Kenmore Elite oven and the cleaning lady somehow turned on the probe and we can not get it to turn off. We've tried everything in the manual, but nothing works.
If you have already tried turning off the breaker and following the steps in the manual, it's possible that there is a problem with the oven's control panel or the temperature probe itself.
Here are some additional steps you can try:
- Unplug the oven and wait for a few minutes before plugging it back in. This may reset the oven's control panel.
- Check if the temperature probe is inserted into the oven. If it is, try removing it and see if the oven turns off the probe function.
- If the problem persists, you may need to contact a professional technician to diagnose and fix the issue.
- If the oven is still under warranty, you can contact the manufacturer or retailer to request a repair or replacement.
It's important to be cautious when attempting to fix any electrical appliance, so if you're not comfortable with troubleshooting or repairing the oven yourself, it's best to seek professio
Refrigerator digital thermometer settings do not work
If the digital temperature adjustment on your Kenmore refrigerator model 596.72003001 is not working, there are several possible causes and solutions to consider:
- Check the power supply: Make sure that the refrigerator is properly plugged in and that the outlet is working. If the outlet is not functioning, try plugging the refrigerator into a different outlet.
- Check the temperature sensor: The temperature sensor is responsible for communicating the current temperature to the digital display. If the sensor is malfunctioning or faulty, the display may not show the correct temperature or allow for adjustments. Check the sensor for any visible damage or signs of wear and tear, and replace it if necessary.
- Check the control board: The control board is responsible for regulating the refrigerator's temperature and ensuring that the digital display is functioning correctly. If the control board is damaged or malfunctioning, it may need to be replaced.
- Reset the refrigerator: Try resetting the refrigerator by unplugging it for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. This can sometimes help to reset the digital display and restore proper functionality.
If none of these solutions work, it may be necessary to contact a professional appliance repair technician to diagnose and fix the problem.

If your Kenmore electric range model 790.9232 oven is not working and the control panel is blank, there are a few potential causes for this issue:
- Faulty control board: The control board manages the oven's functions and if it is faulty, the oven may not work and the control panel may be blank.
- Power supply issue: There may be a problem with the power supply to the oven such as a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.

How do I stop my built in under counter Kenmore Elite Oven to stop beeping with F011 flashing
Does the model number on your oven start with 790 (the three digit prefix)? If that is the case, then your oven was made by Frigidaire. The code F011 indicates a stuck key on the keypad. First make sure that nothing is pressing against any of the keys on the keypad. (The control board saw a signal from a key for 30+ seconds.) Press Stop to clear the display. Try turning off the power to the oven. Then check for loose or damaged wires between user interface control board and the touch panel. (Check the wires for continuity and the pins for corrosion.) Replace damaged wires. Make sure that the touch panel is properly aligned in the enclosure. There may be a spring or other part pressing on the touch panel. If the error persists, then replace the touch panel. Replace the user interface board if the code continues after replacing the touch panel.
I hope this helps. See https://i.sears.com/s/d/pdf/mp-tc/10038420/prod_24762108912 for more information on a similar electronic oven control. Please add the model (including the prefix) of your oven, if you'd like a parts diagram/list.

Oven not working - Kenmore C970-615021.
Hi,
you're correct about the control board being the issue. I would first get in-home assistance from home depot to help get the proper part number before making your order. And then you can order through kenmore.
Thank you.
