Can I get any kind of converter to use CD instead of card in older Babylock?

I,m not sure but I believe that Brother PE Design will work. You will need a computer in order to use it. This program will change all of the embroidery programs to the card that you use. It also gives you an ability to create your own artistic embroidery. It is a very good investment. Many sewing machine businesses carry this and you could probably order it from the internet.

How do I unlock it?

Normally when you have a jam with material the machine with lock up to prevent further damage. Once the jam is removed "completely" the machine will unlock on its own. But, on occasions it will not. Unplug the machine from the power & any hardware you have attached to it such as a computer. Allow the machine to "rest" for several hours. This allows the lock up to clear from the memory & the machine should preform when you return it to the power. Also remove the bed plates around the needle area & check carefully for leftover material, thread, dust, bent parts & replace the needle. Good luck.

1. Turn the power on while holding down the [Start/Stop], [Reverse stitch], and [Needle position] buttons.

2. Touch the positions marked with crosses (+) on the touch panel in order from 1 to 5.

NOTE

• Setting is successful if a single beep sounds when "5" is pressed.

• An error has occurred if two beeps sound when "5" is pressed. Repeat from position 1 again. 3. Turn the power off and then on again. Check that the screen display matches the positions on the touch panel

My feed dogs will not pull my material through.

Check to be sure you have not inadvertently dropped the feed dogs on your machine. Dropped feed dogs are used for 'darning' or 'free motion quilting.' Below is info from Troubleshooting Manual:Fabric does not feed through the machineThe feed dogs are lowered. Use the feed dog position switch to raise the feed dogs. 81The stitches are too close together. Lengthen the stitch length. 42The wrong presser foot was used. Attach the correct presser foot. 179The needle is bent or blunt. Replace the needle with a new one. 34The thread is tangled. Use scissors, etc., to cut the tangled thread and remove it from the race, etc.

I have Babylock Palette 5.0 and I want to install on windows 7/32/64bit I do not know which install upgrade to use. I have installed the orginal disk and it does not work properly. Please advise.

Ester, You will need to upgrade to Palette 8,0 or NeXT versions that are compatible with Windows 7. I'm not sure if Palette 7 upgrade will work either. Other option, may be to get old computer with Windows XP and the right Parallel printer port with the card reader security device for Palette software to work. How can you reset touchscreen on esante

Sounds like the computer circuit board that controls the touchscreen is locked up. Remove all digital attachments from the machine such as laptop, memory card for patterns, embroidery bed, etc. Turn off machine and unplug from power. Wait 5 minutes, plug the power cord back in. Turn on machine. If you are still having problems find the factory reset button provided you can get to it. You can consult the manual for the location of the reset button. If you don't have a manual go online to Babylock.com to locate the correct one for your machine. When all else fails seeks the advise of an authorized dealer.

I can be sewing along just fine and all of a sudden it will get stuck and not move forward. It keeps stitching in one spot. It has been doing that repeatedly.

Try adjusting your tension a little higher. I believe it's a thread bunching problem that a higher tension might solve. You might want to hold the fabric a little taught front and back as your sewing. that might help too.

It says check for broken thread and the thread isn't broken

Pull both the top thread and the lower thread bobbin off. Check if there is thread caught in anywhere along the running mechanism, especially in the lower bobbin area. If there is no thread caught make sure the tension on the thread is not to tight.
