Baby Lock Serger Instruction Manual
Baby Lock offers free downloadable instruction manuals for their products. Go to http://www.babylock.com. Find your model's product page; for example, mine was the Baby Lock Evolve Model BLE8W. Once on the product page for your particular model, you will find a link towards the bottom that says "Manuals & Guides." Click on this link and there will be links to download the manual and anything else, like a Quick Reference guide.
How do I raise the feed dogs
Make sure that your top and bobbin thread are the same and that the tension is set correctly. Then, be sure that the bobbin is put in correctly. If this happens when you are starting on an edge of your material, try putting a piece of material or even a piece of paper, like typing paper, under the edge of the material and sew a little beyond that and then onto your material. You can tear it off later. It gives stability to the edge of the material and should alleviate the problem. I hate when that happens! And, last but not least, be sure you are using the right needle. I love the ballpoint needles for most sewing projects.
Baby Lock Evolve wire Looper threading tool
You have to get the replacement wires from a Babylock dealer, I did too then after sticker shock at the price of that wire I learned to make a thread cradle and use that to thread difficult threads no. Take about 24 inches of regular sewing thread and fold it in half, put the open ends (together, same legnth) into the jet air port and hold onto the loop end, press the jet air threader and it will thread the machine, insert the thread you want to use into the loop you have in your hand and pull it thru the machine using the ends of the thread you put thru the machine, sounds harder than it is and works all the time. No more spending $8 on replacement wires. You can use this method for all the jet air sergers.
Jet-Air is not working, I can hear the air, but
could be some fuzz trapped in looper. try some heavy fishing line to clear it out. make sure it fits nicely or if you have a threader try some bulker thread and pull through to clean out the tube.
Lower looper thread blocked partway
You should have gotten, wit your machine, a wire that is intended for threading thicker threads in the loopers. Try engaging the tubular system and then feed this through the looper with a thread like DMC pearl cotton attached. This might clean out the pathway. I would also make sure I vacummed out the machine really well. You may need to have your machine serviced, if you can't get it out.
