How often should it be
sewing machine oil is a very light oil so it does not hang around very long. if you are a heavy user of the machine it is best to oil it every month or so. if when it is stored for a long period it should be oil then too. there are one or 2 bits that need some light greasing too. some 3-1 oil is good for the job and do all the moving parts lightly and not too much oil as it will mark your clothes. hope this helps.
Fabric only feeds in reverse
It sounds like the reverse button might be stuck. Try unplugging the machine and carefully work the reverse button or lever up and down. Bobbin could be in wrong. Also, how long since you cleaned out the bobbin holder. Try using a pipe cleaner. You might be amazed at how much comes out. There's a Missouri Star youtube on cleaning. You may have done this. I'm just trying to think of what it could be, not insult your intelligence. Hope this helps.

Hi. I don't have the instruction manual for that particular machine so I can't tell you exactly where the controls are but I can tell you that the problem you are having has to do with two things. First is the feed dog. Many machines allow you to vary the heigth of the 'teeth' (feed dog) that comes up through the plate. For example for free hand emborary you don't want the teeth up at all. That allows you to freely slip the material around under the presser foot. But when youre doing normal sewing you need the feed dog to move the material through under the presser foot.
The other factor is what presser foot you are using. There are specialty feet that might bunch the fabric up as it passes, ie rufflers and others that are helpful for fabric like corduroy, while others are used for more delicate materials.
If you got a manual with the machine look at what it says about adjusting the feed dog. It sounds like it is too high, or too much pressure from the top (some machines adjust the tension there too... NOT the same as thread tension!).
So check those two things, what foot you are using and any adjustments available for the feed dog and/or top pressure on the presser foot.
I looked for an online manual for that machine but so far haven't located one. If you don't have one and there isn't one online you may have to order one or see if another seamstress with same machine would scan hers for you. Sometimes you can find someone through one of the online sewing forums.
BTW if you mean that the top fabric comes to the edge/end before the bottom fabric does that though the same applies (as above) but do make sure you have the right presser foot first.
