Ge wsm2420tcaww remove front panel"
It took us a while to figure it out, but it's possible if you have an old model stylemaster WSM2420TCAWW, this is how you get to remove the front panel. 1) unscrew the cover between the dryer and the washer2) there are small bolt-like screws behind the washer lid, use a wrench to unscrew them3) now you can just slide the washer lid towards you, and it will come offHope this save someone some headaches!
Ge washer making clicking sound
Hi, I don't know the model, but it's possibly moving the water fill nozzle over the Fabric Softener compartment in the soap drawer.
Clicking is normal for that.
Washer won't hold water, just drains to the floor.
Sounds like there's a hole or loose ejection water hose.
Move the washer so it will run and you can look in the back to see where the water is coming from....fix the leaky problem once you find it. Could be a bad hose clamp as well

Washing Machine won't do anything and is full of water
Check to see if the tub is free to move in at least one direction or the drain pump for blockage from a small item of clothing. It's best to wash small items in a laundry net bag when mixing with large items to prevent one from getting pushed over the top of the inner tub and either blocking the pump or jamming the tub. Hope this helps you.

Crystal-like substance
It sounds like your water system might need some filter housings installed?-- are there any filter housings in any of your water systems?-- If so, what are they accumulating-- what do you find, when you change filters.
Write back what you are finding.. If you have no filters, then let's install either ONE on your common cold water supply to the house-- or start with two at your washing machine. Which would be easier?- Write back-- Mack Baxter
Ge wbsr washer overflows...
Could it be ...this happens only when it is overloaded or the load is out of balance. Please clarify.
If this is not the case .. the water level hose running from the outside tank to the water level switch is likely not making a good seal (otherwise the water level switch itself is bad). Sometimes with age the hose forms a crack in it near or at the end where it connects. This could happen at either end of the hose. Also if you have removed the control panel recently (for any reason) you may have (not knowingly) pulled the water level hose loose from the water level switch. Just slide the hose back onto the tube of the switch before putting the control panel back in place and all will be fine after the first filling of the tub (it may take one filling cycle to build the needed vacuum back up in the hose). Unless of course in the process you have broken the tube off the switch where the hose goes on. In this case replace the switch.
My washer stopped during the spin cycle. Now I can
Your shaft coupler / motor coupler has likely broke. Not too hard to fix yourself, but you will have to remove the water from the washer first.
Remove the clothes, place them in the bathtub. Roll a garden hose from the washer to outside where drain water won't matter. Tape the garden hose to the drain hose, and lower the drain hose to the floor. Water will flow through the garden hose outside. Turn the washer over, follow directions supplied with new part, and replace the motor coupling. When finished, reorient the washer, remove the garden hose, place drain hose in the drain stand pipe. Run the washer through a couple of full cycles, then rewash the clothing.
How to remove agitator
That is a very old GE model. There may be a screw under the agitator cap which needs to be pried off. Even with the screw removed the agitator usually rusts or bonds to the transmission top. GE had a special pulling tool that was a metal ring that fit over the agitator with 3 set screws in it that you had to screw into the outer plastic of the agitator. A gear puller was then needed to pull the agitator off. Don't know if its worth it considering the age of the machine.
Spins when empty. Why not when full?
When the machine is full, the built in sensor triggers a switch to let the machine know there are clothes inside. Check the sensors and/or switch, as they may be faulty.

I removed the bolt but the agitator bell is stuck
Hi Simon:
These things can be a PITA!
Seems that the bell almost gets "glued" to the post with soap residue. All I can suggest it to re-install the bolt (without washer if there was one), snug it down, then back off about 2 turns.
Here's where controlled brute force happens.....
- If you can lift on the bell and at the same time hit down on the bolt, the shock should pop it loose.
- Lifting on the bell and staying out of the way of the next step can be tricky. Sometimes the bell is shaped so that you can tie a cloth strap around it so that you can get a really strong lift.
- I use a block of wood about a foot long to place on the bolt and then hit the block with a 2 lb hammer while at the same time lifting on the bell.
- When it pops loose, remove the bolt and lift the bell off.
Ta Da!
Cheers.

Why won't it go into spin cycle?
Most of the time if the water has not drained out completely from the tub the signal to the processor says do not spin. So that drain pump problem would have to be checked. On occasion the motor capacitor also goes faulty which can also not allow a spin condtition. The door limit switch can also be a problem but testing equipment is needed to source the problem.
Washer fills-up with too much water and won't do wash cycle
I trust the fill valve is shutting off when off. The problem would then be water level switch or pipe connected to this its also called a Pressure switch, it detects how much water enters the drum then shuts off the supply,No washing could be due to the weight of water and clothes.....Please leave me feedback
