Wouldn't touch a GE. If you have a real Maytag washer, 2 belt, it is worth repairing so long as its not rusted out and parts are available. If you have the model number you can call our shop and tell us the particulars. 425-453-8845.

Model wdss4120aww GE Washer is leaking
If it's leaking during the agitation cycle, and only in 'large' and 'super' water levels, then that's just the way the washer is designed. I got rid of that piece of junk.
GE Top load washer.
Hello rschneeweis
Welcome,
Sounds like a seal or drain hose is leaking or the clamp on a hose has vibrated loose.
Water leaking out the bottom of the machine when washing machine begins
agitation cycle. If the machine is turned off the water stops leaking
even with the tub full of water.
Let me know if you found it and how you do.

I have a GE topload washer, I think the model #
as to the filling issue this would either be the pressure switch or the hose that goes to the pressure switch to the tub has come off if you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank this opinion it allows me to help others in similar situations Thanks Rick
p.s the starts agititating is normal when the lid closes it is engaging the lid switch
After an unbalanced load it started leaking water.
you need to remove the bonnet,(a.k.a. the metal sides) and make sure all the metal sprins are attached to the drum. the round thing, then re assemble. the water coming out is propably from going over the top from your unballanced load.
Dosen't spin, dosen't fill water
your lid switch is a magnetic switch. make sure you have the magnet attached at the lid. if you do still the switch may be bad. question : did the washer fill with the lid open?. if it not then that would be an indication the switch bad. let me know
good luck to you.
It over fills and over
Ge has a problem with a sludge build up in the air dome/air pressure hose. This gives a false reading to the water level switch. Usually a simple repair, you remove the front panel by slipping a putty knife into the top joint of the front panel, until you press into the two clips that hold the front on. Tip the panel towards you, and remove. On the right of the outer tub, you will see a thin air pressure hose (about 1/4 inch thick), that comes from the top of the washer and runs down to a air dome that sticks out of the side of the outer tub. Pull this hose off, and clean out the hose and the air dome. You will usually have to run a wire or small screwdriver into the air dome to clean this. You may have to disconnect the other end of the air hose by removing the screws on the top of the washer, where the timer panel is, to get to the pressure switch that the hose is connected to. Blow through the hose to make sure it is clear. Reinstall the hose, make sure the connections are tight, and retest you washer. If this does not repair the problem, then replace both the water level switch and the air hose. Make sure the washer is unplugged before you do this repair. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists
