I have been tryingto solve this same problem for several years. In the mean time, I use a brick (or two) to hold the "Fuel" button in.

I have a All-Pro propane heater model # Universal 85-FAC. I can get it to start but when I take my hand off the starter button it shuts off?

Its the thermacouple. It's a peice that senses the heater is lit and keeps the gas valve open. They are fairly cheap to replace.

I have an All-Pro K170 forced air heater. the low voltage light comes on after a couple seconds of running then shuts off? What causes this?

You might have a bad or dirty flame sensor.
Take it out and clean with sandpaper.

I HAVE A ALL-PRO SPC-85 HEATER. IT WILL LIGHT AND RUN, BUT IT SEAMS TO NOT BE GETTING ENOUGH GAS. WHAT CAN I LOOK FOR?

Your gas pressure is regulated by the gas valve .You will need a special tool to check gas pressure on the gas valve .
Make sure burners are clean ,filters and blower wheel .
A lot of time dust settle on blower wheel and make it harder to spin causing reduction on air movement

I have a All-Pro torpedo heater ran by propane tanks. I can't get it to come on. U can hear the igniter igniting but can't get it to come on. Any suggestions.

If gas is being supplied to the heater without problems but it isn't getting through to the burner it could be a safety device problem. There is generally a gas cut-out valve that is operated by a thermocouple. This is often in assembly with the main gas control and usually the control has to be pushed in or turned beyond maximum to over-ride the safety cut-out for starting purposes. Once the gas jet is burning the thermocouple rapidly warms up and the main gas supply is switched on the control knob can be released. Disconnecting the output from the valve would indicate whether the valve is faulty or the jet is blocked. If no gas is passing through the valve there could be a fine gauze filter in the inlet that is blocked. I hope this helps.

Have 85000 but all-pro propane heater. starts fine good flame, release the gas valve button, heater shuts down no gas

If you have a thermocouple and standing pilot as described the gas cannot flow full to the burners with the gas valve button depressed because the position of the gas valve to allow the button to be depressed is not in the 'on' position....its in the 'pilot' position. Are you sure you cleaned the 'thermocouple' and not just a 'spark ignition electrode' ?? One with spark ignition will not have a gas valve that has a pilot position.... Kinda confusing and conflicting data to sort through ..... Hmmmm.... If you have the spark ignition style, the problem COULD be in the 'flame rectification' circuit. IF it has the ignition electrode, the other side of the furnace will contain the 'flame sensor' that senses the flame and completes the ground circuit of the electronic module through the flame. Its not doing it, so either it is oxidized up inhibiting its ability to conduct electricity through the flame or there is residual oxidation within some of the terminal connections of the ground circuit. IF what you have is the 'standing pilot', the first suggestion is to replace the thermocouple. A more remote possibility is the gas valve has a defective safety coil that drops out when you release the pilot button.

As soon as i let

Either the Thermocouple is loose from the control valve; The Thermocouple, if it's a stand-a-lone type has a lacquered finish on it from the propane and needs cleaning. Or, you're not fully depressing the control valve when it's in the pilot position, when you're trying to light it. Once the pilot lights, the knob should be held in for at least a minute, to allow the Thermocouple to thoroughly heat up.

I recommend that you thoroughly clean the unit, before attempt light if again or trouble shooting it.
