Either the Thermocouple is loose from the control valve; The Thermocouple, if it's a stand-a-lone type has a lacquered finish on it from the propane and needs cleaning. Or, you're not fully depressing the control valve when it's in the pilot position, when you're trying to light it. Once the pilot lights, the knob should be held in for at least a minute, to allow the Thermocouple to thoroughly heat up.

I recommend that you thoroughly clean the unit, before attempt light if again or trouble shooting it.

check out the presure switch could be blocked, or try jumping it ou to see if it lights , check flame sencor is clean

Your fishing take it to service center who has test eguipment to check it out right. Does it burn all right with the cover off?? If it same then it is your eye. Make sure your using the right photo cell. kEN'S REPAIR.

check the reg and size of pipe draw on bottle is too much it cannot turn to gas so it freezes its pulling of faster than the gas .

Thermocouples can be purchased at most hardware stores, home depot, etc. The only difference for a thermocouple is the length. There are heavy duty types and regular. I would suggest using a heavy duty thermocouple. Also, it is recommened that thermocouples be changed every 2-3 years to prevent unnecessary failures, which usually occur when you need the unit the most.

Clean or replace the flame sensor

Replace the primary control (the component that has the reset button).

With unit unpluged turn fan by hand. If fan does not turn freely, adjust compressor ring. If that does not help you may need to replace motor??? The manufacture has service manuals on there site... www.desatech.com . This should help you!

If it effecting the pilot light only, yes. If it effecting the main burner, you will need a thermo-pile or pile-generator.

Is it stopping the fan from coming on? If this is the case make sure the
fan assembly is seated correctly in the base

You need to replace the thermocouple. It's the small brass tube that the flame hits. It sends a signal to the valve. If it sends a hot signal, the valve stays open. If it doesn't send a signal, for safety reasons, the valve shuts.
Available at most hardware stores for under $10.

Hi, If you have replaced the thermocouple and it wont stay lit, make sure that it is good and tight where it screws into the mgv. The only other possible component that could be the problem, is the pilot coil on the Gas Valve.When the thermocouple is heated when it is lit, the gases in the bulb produce a small amount of electricity called milivolts. This was taught in Pysics class many years ago. Anyway, that voltage is what keeps the pilot lit so the gas valve will energize and open on a call for heat. When the space and t-stat are satisfyed, Main gas valve shuts down and pilot stays lit on a standing piloy system. So, it will need to be replaced. Before you replace it, make sure that the pilot flame is of a nice blue at the base with a small yellow tip, and it is large enough to surround the bulb. If not, this will also make it go out. You can clean the pilot tube but use a wire to **** it as compressed air will not blow out cob webs if thats a problem. There is an ajustment for the pilot, and is marked. Check all of this before you replace the valve.You may get lucky and find a small restriction at the pilot tube opening. You can get a valve at any appliance parts sales at a reasonable price.
