I have an older champion by Gibson torpedo heater model CH150 Manf'g #50213A The problem I'm having is after the unit is fully warmed up sometimes it stops working and puffs out large amounts of smok

If it is electric then you need to check resistors out of circuit. Some times they say 100R (ohms) but out of circuit they measure 60R due to long usage.

However check thermostat as it might be carbon on it causing dirty contacts

I need a new ignitor for an ALL PRO heater

Most torpedo heaters use a standard automotive spark plug for ignition. Have you removed the top cover to see what is in there?

Rotor failed. Replaced, won't ignite.

Yes, I would say, it's possible. Try emptying the tank and see if you hear any ratting inside the tank, when you shake it. Once the pressure is off the tank, any debris may fall back into the tank.

You may also want to check the fuel filter for dirt and debris, as well as the air intake filter.
Also, there may be air in the lines.

In checking the Owners Manual for your model heater, there's not much there, as far as Trouble Shooting is concerned. Never the less, I am providing a link to it, You can download and print it for future reference, if you so desire.

I hope this gets you started in the right direction.

I just bought a spc

I looked in the manual-- and under operating instructions it says:

Use only Kerosene or #1 fuel oil. Never use gasoline,
naphtha, paint thinner, alcohol or other fuels of any kind.

What would you say Diesel fuel is?
