There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Try the old electronic trick of switching all OFF and removing the plugs to TV and cable box for five minutes then reconnect.

Rick
Do you have other devices connected to your t?
Such as a router, a decoder or an apple tv? If you have, restart them and change the batteries in the remote. You may think that is a silly suggestion, but changing batteries in remotes has helped me more than once. Oh and do not forget to check all cables and connections as well as the power. This method does not always work the first time, in my experience it works. Patience and coffee.

That capacitor could possibly be the cause. On some sets, the 12V supplies both the video and audio circuits. I would recommend replacing the cap and checking power supply outputs especially the 12vdc supply.

This is either due to some incompatibility or change of format of picture. Also the color system should be same like PAL/SECAM etc.
