How to activate date/time stamp on nikon d90

The D90 won't deface your photos by scrawling a string of numbers across them. However, the date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every image in what's called the EXIF data. Just about any photo printing program will allow you to include some of this data when printing the photo. Depending on the program and printer, you can print this data on the picture, in the margins, or on the back.

How to activate date/time stamp on nikon d90

The date and time are stored with the picture as metadata, but the D90 won't mar your photos by scrawling a string of numbers on it. Any good photo editing program will let you print the date and time on the picture, in the margin, or on the back, depending on your printer.

Is the Tamron AF08N700 auto focus with the D90?

Good morning. You have likely already gotten an answer to this, but yes, it will. Unlike less expensive models such as the D40, D60, D3000 and D5000, the D90 has a built in autofocus motor, which means that all Nikon F-mount autofocus-lenses (except two for the rare Nikon F3AF) can be used in autofocus mode for all newer generation autofocus lenses like the Tamron 200-800. However, you may want to look around a bit, as Tamron has come out with a new 150-600 lens that is simply terrific (I know, I own one) and the Big Sig from Sigma is equally great. FYI Good luck.

How to work on nef files and convert into jpeg

There are several ways to open NEF files.

With the appropriate codec, Windows can open NEF files for viewing:
http://support.nikontech.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/13869

Recent versions of Adobe Camera RAW can open NEF files and allow you to work with them in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements (this is not free software):

The free Nikon ViewNX2 can open NEF files and convert them to JPEG. Nikon CaptureNX2 allows you to work with the NEF files directly, though this is also not free software:

Memory Card Indicator always blinks

Since a couple of months, my "out of warranty" D90 is having a problem.

Even after shutting down the unit , sometimes (post of the time) the green led is blinking (at random speed) untill the battery is 100% down (after half a day). Switching memory card , or formatting memory card does not help. Even without lens , problem occurs. I tried also a other battery pack , same problem...

Anyone has an possible reason why this happens , or a 100% working solution.

PS: D90, battery packs and charger are 100% genuine NIKON. Regards, Rik

I have just purchased polaroid lense filters polaroid say they are compatible with Nikon d90 but I cant get them on do I need something else to attach them

Filters must be the right size for each lens. For example the 18-105mm kit lens that comes with most D-90 kits uses a 67mm filter. They thread into the main lens. It is always safer to put a clear or UV filter on your camera lens to protect the expensive lens glass. You can thread another type of lens onto it as easily as you can your base lens. Be sure and do not force a threaded lens filter onto your lens or you will damage the expensive lens. It should thread on easily and do not over tighten it.

Service center in dubai

I can only guess what mean by "memory slot problem" because you have not given any details, so I can only give you general information. If your problem is that your SD card does not work, I would suggest you start by reformatting the card in the camera. First, make sure that your SC card is not write protected. Hold the SD card so that you are looking at the label with the angled corner on the right top. Look along the left edge of the card and you will see a slider switch. It is very small so look closely. On most cards, there is an arrow on the label pointing downward with the notation "Lock". If the switch is in the lock position, slide it all the way up to allow you to send information to the card and replace the card in the camera. SD cards formatted in a computer often do not work because the camera's format function writes slightly different encoding to the card. Push the Menu button on the left side of the camera's back (just below the top button) and scroll to the Setup Menu and Format Memory Card. A warning message will be displayed. Use the up switch to select "yes" and push the center OK button.

Hi... I am having a problem i never had before

I would not try removing switches or anything else on your camera if you are inexperienced. You can really screw things up big time and then you will have a really big bill for the repair. I would advise you to go on the Nikon USA website and find the nearest factory repair depot and phone them for advice on this matter. You will probably need to send it to them for repair. They usually have about a ten day turn around. I don't know how you use your camera in your work, but if you must have a camera while yours is in for repair, you can rent one from Adaorama.com. They will ship it to you and then you ship it back at the end of the rental. I have been using them for years and they are very reputable.

Nikon D90 Battery soon empty and want recharge again

This could indicate a short in either the battery or the camera. Try another battery. If the same thing happens, it's in the camera. Contact Nikon tech support at www.nikon.com and see what they advise. If the camera is under warranty, Nikon may repair it free. The website also has a list of authorized repair centers. One of these centers can give you a repair estimate if the camera is no longer under warranty.

Nikon d90 err error

On page 256 of the D-90 user manual it says that an ERR message indicates a camera malfunction and that the malfunction can be cleared by releasing the shutter. I found that the only way I could release the shutter is to turn the camera off and back on. On rare occasions, I have needed to remove and reinstall the battery. The manual says that if this problem persists or occurs frequently you should contact a Nikon authorized repair center for instructions. I recommend that you contact Nikon tech support at www.nikon.com before you send your camera for repair just in case they may have a solution that won't cost you any money for repairs. If the camera is still under warranty, I would definitely contact Nikon tech support to see what they have to say.

What does raw+fine pictures mean?

The raw+fine setting indicates that your camera will take both raw (NEF) and high resolution JPEG pictures with every shot. You can change this to shoot just JPEG or just raw shots using your menu under the little camera icon. Click on image quality and it will give you multiple settings so you can choose only raw or only JPEG. You have three JPEG settings: fine, normal or basic. I always shoot raw+fine which I think may be the default setting. I use the jpeg pictures for simple and quick editing and I use raw for detailed editing. JPEG pictures deteriorate quickly during editing while raw pictures can handle extensive editing without significant deterioration. When you shoot raw+fine, it means the camera is actually storing two pictures of the same shot, one in each of the two formats. When you view the pictures in Windows, you can tell the difference between the raw shots and the jpeg shots because the raw shots have a broad black bar across the top and bottom of the picture while the jpeg shots fill the screen.

Nikon D90. blinking "clock" sign in the top LCD panel. Any advise?

Sounds like you may have a circuit failure. Possibly the phase switch but that is not the usual symptom. In any case this should be sent to Nikon as they stopped selling parts a year ago, and also you need their proprietary software to initialize a new board if it is replaced.
