GE Cooktop drop-in model # jgp328bec2bb - how to
Turn off the gas, unplug the power.
Take the cooktop out of the cutout and support it on the countertop.
Remove all grates and valve knobs.
Remove all screws from the valves and the burners.
Remove the burner base plates.
You may have screw on the side holding the top to the base,if so,remove these too.
The top will separate from the bottom exposing your parts.
The burner grates are made from metal that is too
As to the grates sagging it depends on the manufacture on a recall. Generally when you order the replacement parts unless there has been an enhancement by the man., they will be the same.
be sure not to use high heat for long periods this is what cause metal fatigue.
How do I get up old glued linoleum off hardwood
There used to be a liquid called Tolulene which dissolved the glue but nowadays its been banned because of many health reasons. I got told by a floor covering Guy that sanding is the only way to do it now. Hire a belt sander for a day and get it all off.
My front left ignitor/electrode is
Somethings when we clean the cooktop with a damp rag especially around the knobs moisture can get onto the burner switches. When this happens it creates a short and spark the electrodes. Try to unplug the unit for 24hrs. I have had so many just dry out and never had a problem. If you try this and still get the clicking change out the wire harness part#WB18T10339. Its a series of switches that sit on top of each burner and connected to the spark module. I would recommend changing out the spark module part#WB13T10046. Both of the parts are only around $20-$30 a piece and you will have your cooktop running like new.
Please look at item numbers 323,318 on the picture thats what needs to be changed out
Please rate me a "4" if I helped you.
Have a super day!
Ignitors will not stop clicking
Hi,
Most of the time when that happens it is because of water getting into the switch behind the knob and shorting it out....give it time to dry out and you will be okay...
Here is a tip that I wrote that will help figure out why the burner spark keepson clicking...

Hi - I have a 4 burner GE gas cooktop. The
Usually this happens if something has been spilled or a pan overflowed and is partially clogging some of the burner holes. Make sure the burner holes are clear and try poking them with a sewing needle to make sure. I am assuming the flames are a nice blue color and not a lazy yellow or yellow-tipped. If there is some orange, that is usually an indication you are burning off some food and will need to be cleaned. If that doesn't appear to be the issue, then let us know and we'll dig deeper. Left front and right rear burners will not ignite.

Trouble with front burners: Right burner sparks
The igniters for the burners are all on one circuit so when you turn the burner to light the switch inside the burner valve will cause all burner igniters to come on. As far as the left burner not sparking it could be due to a bad igniter switch in the valve and when you turn on the right burner you are causing all(including the left one) to spark. You will need to make sure that the burner eyes are clear and not plugged. You can use a sewing needle to clear out the eyes. The small eyes at the igniter electrodes are very important because if they are clogged the burner will not light.
