Yes you can move thermostat wherever you want but remember if not placed at a suitable location space may either be too hot or too cold .For example if you put it too close to the heater it will satisfy faster without allowing the whole space to warm up

The red power wire leading to the thermostat shows
Hi,
Not usually but it could...
It is more likely that there was and is a poor connection there...
Strip back the wire and reconnect it making sure that the connection is a very tight good one...

No I would not think so, a thermostat is only to turn the heater on and off period. Now inside the heater there are controls that set when the blower is to come on usually set at 150 degrees and another to cool down the furnace and this is usually around 130 to 120 degrees. Again these tell it when to run and when to shut down, internally they call them high and low limit controls. I would try to locate the lower limit and boost the cool down temperature up to take care of this problem.
With the t-stat on high and a garage temp of 20
it depends what u have the tstat set on butat 20 degrees it should not turn off at all does it have a wall tstat if so take the cover off an u should have 2 wires a red and a white tie them together and see if it stays on if it does then its the thermostat if not then u have another problem but it sounds like its the thermostat
I've only had my heater
Themostat will be at fault for not shutting this off .. If two weeks old what kind of warranty was given?
FIRST TIME USE WILL NOT COME ON IS GETTING POWER
Do you hear a click when you turn thermostat all the way up? If this is a
220volt unit, then the contactor is porbably not pulled in. One sure way
to make sure you have power and functions is to have a electrically inclined person push the contactor in, unit shouldrun
Dayton g73 electric heater less than two months
I WOULD TRY TO BYPASS THE THERMOSTAT TO MAKE SURE THE UNIT WORKS AND REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT IF IT DOES , SEE IF IT IS UNDER WARRENTY, MY GUESS WOULD BE THAT IT IS JUST DEFFECTIVE, AND YOU ARE TRYING TO FIND A CAUSE, THIER IS NO REAL CAUSE THAT I CAN THINK OF THAT WOULD BURN UP THE THERMOSTAT IF IT WAS OR HAS BEEN WORKING, GOOD LUCK
