GE Monogram ZISS420NRSS 42" Built-In Side-By-Side Refrigerator (ZIS-S420NRSS, ZIS S420NRSS) Questions & Answers
GE Monogram Built-in refrig has blocked evaporator drain.
You should be able to see the drain under the coil. Part 804 on this diagram. Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end
because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the
evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it.
Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing
it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough
to prevent refreezing.
ZIss420DRISS compressor is very hot
In regards to all the answers above, where did u guys get the answers? It is totally off. U guys should know the correct answer n know what u r talking about before u attempt to give it. Check the model #.
Fyi, with this particular model, the compressor is on top of the fridge, along with the condenser, condenser fan. The evaporator is right on top of the freezer. A drain pan is under the evap, when in defrost, water drains over to the pan under the compressor to the right.
So for all u 'technicians' out there. Check ur knowledge n answer before u give it. It'll help the consumer much better!
Ge monogram zfsb23d howls
Usually you will get a sort of whinning/screeching noise from the fans inside the fridge/frezzer when they are not working properly but you can also get that howling noise from the fan which cools the compressor for the fridge/frezzer which is usually found underneath the Unit. All you have to do is find exactly where the noise is coming from and remember unless you have a dog that likes to lock itself in the fridge for a joke then most noises that come from fridge/frezzers are only made from the moving mechanical parts and sometimes leaking refridgerants but not often.
Ice in freezer and warm refrigerator Zisb48dyb
Hi,
If I remember correctly, GE had a issue with the drain pan as it would clog or restrict and back up in the freezer and in the air return (hence, water under crispers if refer section). GE has a repair kit for this and they have also changed the drain hose to prevent self restricting as it leaves the freezer. This part is an Icing kit part# WR49x10021, this comes with complete instruction as to what your changing and why. This should solve your drain and water problem, if this is what your issue is. I hope this was helpful. I’m happy to help further over the phone at
