Hello. My G.E. Monogram water dispenser trickles water after we get water from it. We have to keep a cup there to catch the excess water. How do I fix it so it stops as soon as we get water out of t

Try replacing the Water Valve. It is located in the back of the refrigerater, left side. You should see three tubes connected to it. This part fixes the following symptoms - Leaking water, Water dispenser will not dispense water, Ice maker will not make ice and Ice maker won't dispense ice. GE part#WR57X10032. The Water Valve is extreemly easy to replace. Only takes about 15 mins total time to remove, install and confirm. I just replaced mines..my problem went from leaking water to no water was dispensing at all. I have the GE Profile, it uses the same water valve as your GE Monogram. There is a You Tub video that also shows how to replace. Good Luck!

Why isn't it making ice?

Is ice maker getting water? If not check the solenoid that feeds the icemaker for operation. And also check freezer temp - icemakers will not work at freezer temps higher than 10 degrees.

Ice and Water dispenser is inoperable.

I had a GE Fridge at one time and had issues like yours. If you disconnected the connector at the door that supplies the dispenser with power, you would not measure any voltage on the dispenser side, only on the 'fridge' side. Measure the power with the connector connected, but that may not tell you a lot, unless you have the service manual. If you push the water dispenser and you do not hear the little valve kick on behind the fridge, suspect a couple of things. A faulty inlet valve (usually located lower rear of fridge on backside). It may be disconnected. Had this happen once on a new fridge - it had been disconnected from the factory. You may have one problem or two issues, but let's continue... Do you push the ice dispensor and nothing happens? Or are you telling us that the dispenser works but there is no ice? The faulty valve mentioned above will prevent ice dispenser from filling to make ice. Also, there is RESET button hidden in the freezer a well. I can't remember where it is but the little arm to make ice has to be in position to tell it to make ice, and you have to follow the procedure in yourf ridge manual to reset it. It's Another problem I encountered, but this was just with the cold water dispenser, was that the water line would FREEZE in the fridge door, preventing water from getting to the dispenser and my cup. It wold make ice but no water. In that case I had to get a small squirt bottle with a long nose on it and shoot hot water up into the dispenser nozzle to clear the ice in the line. That only happened a couple tines a year, though. Here's a video that may help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPeZ29XdX5U

Why is the refrigerated side freezing food?

Your freezer door seal may be the problem forcing the freezer side to work too long, thus affecting fridge side.

Compressor of built-in monogram burning up. Should it be?

Don't know who to believe these days. When the compressor won't start and over heats the start relay, start capacitor and external overload may be the most likely reason. The door frames have heat strips that is normal. Sea Breeze

My GE Monogram Frig door will not stay shut, it's lost its vacuum seal!

Check the fridge for out of level. Magnets on the weather-stripping hold the door closed. If there is something stuck on the seal, or too much weight in the door in an un-level fridge it will not make good contact. Try cleaning the rubber, and removing everything from the door after leveling. A good seal will stay closed even if the fridge is off.

What causes temperature drop?

I had the same problem-unplugging it for about 10 minutes helped reset the temperature. If you take the back panel off, you'll see a circuit board. Look at the capacitors (they look like little cans), if the ends are bulging out, you'll need to replace it-about $110 for the part.

Electrical schematics

Wiring diagrams are routinely placed somewhere in the back of the appliance, often behind the access panel, and sometimes inside a small envelope, or rolled up and stuck into a frame channel.
