GE Profile JKP56 Electric Double Oven Questions & Answers
Is it easy to replace the keypanel of the GE
Hello, The simple answer is yes it's not too hard...Normally you have a couple of screw located underneath the control panel. In most mordern ovens today they just consist of 2 components, the EOC (Electronic oven control) and the touch pad which basically cosists of everything you see(the whole panel). If you are replacing the touchpad..remove screws holding old panel in...pull wire harness from control board (dont worry where they go because the will only fit in one place) remove tape from EOC and relocate the control board to the new touchpad panel...reattach wire harness and tape in the new touchpad panel and hook back on oven ..screws in and your good to go. if replacing the control board (EOC) drop touch pad panel from oven and pull wires install new control then reassemble..easy!.
One thing i would check though before purchasing the part, check to see it is the touchpad and not the control board...Here is how to do it...shut breaker off...pull out control panel...remove ribbon for key pad from EOC the re install panel..go switch breaker back on. leave for 24 hours..if within the 24 hours the error messages come back it's the EOC that is bad, if the error messages do not come back then you can be sure it's the touchpad. I would check this before buying the part since they are expencive and offten non returnable. Good Luck!! If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. GE JT912-30 single wall oven "help" with F7 - F0 error
I have a double oven GE Profile. The error message FO appeared. I shut off the circuit breaker for 30 minutes or more and the oven works but without warning FO reappears. FO message means there is short in the clear Off touch button. The only solution replace the complete panel. My cost delivered $328. Ouch!
Where can i find an oven light
Your best bet would be to remove the old one and take it to an electrical spares shop. They should be able to help you.
Panel on jkp56 is dimming
Try removing the connectors to the electronic control (power off first) panel and reinserting them. It could be just poor connections. If this doesn't fix it the control board or power board could be failing.
F1 error code
disconnect the power undo the three screws that hold the panel in place
and behind the panel if you look you will see a 1 1/2'' wide electrical
ribbon that sends info to and from touch pad .... ok heres the fix what
causes the F1 is a short were the ribbon goes through the little metal
slot (rubbing ) put some caulk on a business
card and carefully put between metal and ribbon (you will only get to
push the card in about 1/8'') but this and the caulk will be suff to
keep the ribbon shorting, replace panel and screws power back on , it
should now be ok
The lower oven does not
Hello,
Welcome to FixYa.
It sounds like the hi-limit safety thermostat may be tripped due to the self clean, I haven't seen anywhere in the recent dialog where this has been mentioned or that you've checked it though, have you checked ?
Unfortunately it is the non-reset type hi-limit on these ovens,( if the oven is indeed a JKP56 model ) It is shown here and is behind the grill between the two ovens...
It is available at "repairclinic.com" parts vendor for approx. $30USD. but if you jump it out to test it and then replace it, we can get you back up and cooking.
** Turn off the breaker before attempting any service please...safety first **
Let me know how you make out or if indeed you've already checked the hi-limit thermostat. I'll watch for your reply. Good luck.

Macmarkus :)
I keep getting FO code and beeping won't clear
Hello George, The F0 error code means that the computer thinks a button on the touchpad is stuck. Sometimes this can be resolved by making sure the touchpad connector fits tight into the control board. The F0 code can be cleared by pushing CANCEL/OFF. If it returns the touchpad needs to be replaced .GENE
Flashing signal.....F7
Possible problem with your key pad or control board.
Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs
(Gain access to control panel)
If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.
If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.
Ge profile dbl oven keeps reading error message
Hello,
The F7 error code means that a button on the touchpad is stuck. What the proper repair procedure is,is to first replace the touch pad and if F7 returns replace clock (also known as eoc or control board) Do not take this wrong but a no point in my 30 years appliance repair career exchanging info with my coworkers or even factory trainers at training sessions have i ever heard anything about putting cardboard around the touchpad ribbon cable.
