GE Electric Range Model #JBP95A F1 and F7 Error Code
F1 is a common error code indicating a failure of the oven control board (aka ERC or EOC). Often these control boards have been discontinued, "no longer available" or are very expensive. We may be able to help and save you money.

GE Oven door lock 'engaged' while door was open
If
your oven door has gotten bent or warped (maybe you rested something
heavy on it...), you need to remove the door, disassemble it, and
straighten it. You can lift most oven doors off of their hinges by
opening the door several inches to its first "stop," and lifting the
entire door straight up.
If
the hinges have become worn, damaged, or bent, you probably need to
replace them. We recommend replacing both hinges at the same time, to
prevent uneven wear of the undamaged hinge.

I have a GE Electric
Most often the control panel fails on these models. In order to fix it, the control panel has to be replaced. This is a very
simple job and you will need just a 1/4′ nut driver and a Phillips
screwdriver.
Instructions:
- Always turn off the circuit breaker first.
- Open the oven door on the top and remove three screws from the bottom of the control panel. If the control panel on your oven
is made of stainless steel, then you will have to pull the oven out of the
cabinet out about 2′ to 3′ to get better access.
- Pull the control panel
forward and up to remove the tabs on the top of the frame, out of the
holes in the end caps. Pull the control panel out and turn it about 90°
toward yourself (the face of the control panel down).
- Unplug the control
panel ribbon from the ERC.
- Remove four screws holding the ERC to the
control panel.
- Remove the screw which
attaches the ground wire to the control panel. Let the ERC hang on its
wires, remove the old control panel and replace it with the new one.
- Remove the end caps and the
bottom shield from the old control panel and install them on the new
one. Do not forget to plug the new control panel ribbon into the ERS
slot.
- Attach the new control panel to the oven and turn the circuit
breaker on. Set the time of the day and you are back in business.

Only bottom of the electric double wall oven works
If you can, test for power to the element in the top oven. If there is power coming to the element, it could be that the element is bad and can be replaced. If there is now power coming to the top oven there could be a more serious issue in a 40 year old oven
