GE JVM1440 Microwave Oven - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
GE JVM1440 microwave - Fan only works on 'low' speed
Only working on low would probably be either a bad blower motor or a bad main circuit board. I dont remember ever having to replace a blower, but the main board has relays that switch back and forth for what ever speed you are trying to use. Problem is the main board will be quite expensive. May want to look at prices on new units. And remember on a new unit you get full factory warranties on everything.

Installation of undercabinet microwave
If the OTR is the same model, the mounts should be the same. As long as you use the same bolts/screws from the old one, or the same length new bolts/screws, it should be a fairly simple exchange.

What is the wattage
It should be listed along with the model and serial number inside the door frame or on the back side...
If it doesn't list wattage, Volts X Amps = Watts.

How to change light bulbs
This unit may have to come down off the wall. I think you have to remove the 'wrapper' or cover to access the light bulb on this unit.

Where is the fuse on my ge microwave
You'll need to remove the vent/grate located at the top of the microwave. Its held by two phillips head screws, once you remove that the fuse will be located on the left hand side a little ways back. Sometimes there may be a a metal plate that needs removal to gain enough access. for a good illistrated breakdown go to
www.apdepot.com and select your brand and type your model number. Good luck! If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at

Mirowave not heating where is magatron located
Microwave ovens don't use heat to cook with... they use microwaves. Heat generated by the internal components is the same as heat generated by the motor in your car. It's a waste product of work. The best test for a microwave oven is to put a half cup of cold water in and run the set for atleast 30 secs.. If the water is not hot or atleast very warm, then the sets not working.

My microwave turns on automaticly. the first time
It appears your touchpad has failed or sticking buttons in this instance. For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.I recommend both sites because ...FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs. If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell. In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

How do you get to
If your oven is dead (no signs of life at all) it may be a blown fuse or one of the thermal cutouts / thermostats may be defective.
There
should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit
behind the
control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is
very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.
At
our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical
over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.
You can find helpful
exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model
number here.Accessing the thermal cutouts for testing and possible replacement will require you to remove the oven from the wall.
If
so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have
two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.
You can download GE
owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

Everything turns on and appears
Since the magnetron is probably the problem and costs $139.96 plus shipping and tax from Sears are you sure you want to put that much into the repair? If so the part number is: WB27X10017

Microwave Circuit trips First:
The outlet with the red button is a GFI (ground fault interrupter) type. It may have been damaged when the microwave overheated. If so, it may trip when loaded.
You should do a full two minute heat test with a cup of water with the oven plugged into the standard type outlet that you tried second.
If it works fine, then i would suspect that the GFI outlet has failed and needs to be replaced. "When in doubt, throw it out", as they say.
The microwave does not need a GFI type outlet.
But do be sure the microwave's internal cooling fan is running properly.
When I say internal
cooling fan, I do not mean the hood vent exhaust fan which you can turn
on and off manually.
I'm instead talking
about the internal fan which comes on automatically whenever you microwave.
It is vital that the
cooling fan runs, or the magnetron will soon be destroyed. We have a sound clip of what a microwave should sound like when the cooling fan and high voltage section are working.
If the turntable and/or inside light do not work when you cook, that's a bad sign, too.
If the microwave still fails in the standard outlet, it has a problem that needs to be addressed.
If you need further help, contact me directly or post a new detailed help request here and include your full model number from the tag on the oven.
