Hp dv5 not charging or booting up
Try this,
remove the battery and try with the ac adapter. Generally we trying to see if its battery or ac problem. Laptop should start cause the source of the power is the 120v electricity converted for laptop use through the adapter.
If its still not starting, then its adapter issue, just buy another one from a local computer store or amazon according the model of the laptop
I have a hp laptop
you usually find,that setting the keyboard is done at first install of operating system.if you do not choose your correct country and keyboard layout you could find malfunction of the keyboard.
The other scenario could be the keys themselves have begun to malfunction,the first option will require a reinstall of your operating system and the correct options chosen at this stage.
My laptop is not charging.
Ifthe laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall.
ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time.
Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

There must be a problem in the wiring of your adapter.Get it checked by a professional to avoid permanent damage to your laptop and adaptor.And if its not charging the laptop,it means that there is no proper supply from the adaptor to your laptop.

Hi,
Sadly it seems you have a dead battery on your hands.
If it's still under warranty i would advise to activate it and get a new one.
If not, you can find cheap batteries on your local dealer (compatible ones may be cheaper but may void your warranty. If possible always use original parts).

My youcam is not working
If what you simply need is to video Chat, you can simply change your
video settings from
- TOOLS
- OPTIONS
- VIDEO SETTINGS (change the webcam from YOUCAM TO HP WEBCAM)
Now try a video call and see!Later on you if you want, you can change it back to Youcam...

Laptop wont power up but the light is on where the
Start taking your laptop apart piece by piece and test it after each removed component:
1. Remove the hard drive and test the laptop.
2. Remove the DVD drive and test the laptop.
3. Remove the wireless card and test the laptop.
4. Unplug the display panel from the motherboard/video card and test the laptop.
etc....
Continue taking it apart until you have only three major components connected: motherboard (with video card), processor, and memory. If you still experience the same problem, most likely it's bad motherboard.
By the way, before you start, try reconnecting the memory module. If you have two modules installed, try removing them one by one and test the laptop with each one separately.
Need to get my hdmi output to work
If you have windows vista then connect the HDMI device to the notebook with the cable.
The click on start then type sound and select sound from the list.
In that please click right click SPDIF or something like that and click on set default.
The sound should work.
Start the audio file again.

It depends what program you used to add it in the first place. Open the software and look for settings, or just uninstall it.
