PURCHASED SAMSUNG LCD TV MODEL
Hi,
I am sorry to hear regarding the trouble. I understand the concern, however this is a common problem with most of the Brands. I agree that Samsung customer service should accept these facts and should be willing to help the consumers. To begin with, there is no recall for this TV and moreover, as it is more than 2 years old - it is out of warranty. What surprised me that they have mentioned you to take it to the repair shop rather than offering a repair without any labor fees. This is what most of the brands are following. I would not recommend you to take this TV to a small repair shop until they guarantee the fix. LCD display is a BIG problem on this set and i agree with the fact there is a probability that it could be a bad LCD panel. If that's the case, replacement or buying a new TV would be the best option, though i hate to choose these words. It is always advisable to buy extended warranties on these big monsters.
I would rather advise you not to give up and complaint the same with Samsung. Each manufacturer have a feedback section or customer relations. Contact them and ask for a resolution. Try to either get a replacement or repair at minimal cost. This is the only option. Opting for an outside repairman would not help as most of the outside shops keep a huge mark up on parts. If Samsung is not willing to help you, try to go a step ahead and negotiate that you are even willing to pay as most of the manufacturers take this into assumption that consumer do not want to pay for repair.Hopefully you would be able to get this rectified soon.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

How to install fan #1
Hello
Put on the work gloves. Turn the Samsung rear-projection television around so that the back is facing you. Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws from the bottom left, the bottom right and across the bottom of the TV. Remove the screws that are directly above the ones on the bottom left, the bottom right and the bottom of the TV. Put the screws aside
Insert the flat-edged screwdriver into the seam between the bottom plate and the back of the TV. Wiggle the flat-edged screwdriver into the seam to loosen the bottom plate. Remove the bottom plate and put it aside.
Locate the fan assembly inside of the TV at the left corner. Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws from around the fan assembly. Put the screws aside.
Our LN40A630 has three horizontal white lines
This is a sign of your LCD panel beginning to die. Sometime soon those lines won't fade away and will become permanent parts of your TV screen.
Considering the fact that your TV is approx 3-4 years old, this is normally the expected lifespan of a TV. Once the TV becomes unwatchable, your best bet would be to begin shopping for a new one.
