How do I gear down to go slower on my MPV 5 ?

If you have 2 speeds, usually 8mph and 4mph there will be on the arm rest.
If you want to go slower there might be a dial on the rest which you can turndown. There are no online manuals for your NRS, so i hope this helps.

Can not find the serial number on mvp 4

There are no manuals online ,but have found a telephone number you could use.
Ask them where your serial number is, and from that they can get you a manual as well.

The Hoveround Chair just stopped for no apparent reason...but

Just want to let you know that it was indeed the fuses that needed replacing! (THANKS!) The fuses are typical car 40 amp fuses (orange/red in color) and there are two of them--one on top of each battery (under the covers). It was a simple fix and one that the Hoveround Tech folks did not even mention since they assumed it was the controller (at $1200).

I suggest keeping a few of these on hand...they cost about $5 each and easily replaced. I bought the ones that glow when they pop so it's easier to determine which fuse is shot.

Thanks for hosting this site...I think it is extremely beneficial and am adding it to my favorites!

Hooveround MPV won't move

Most likely either one or both of the batteries have a dead cell. Have your batteries load tested to check their condition.

Can the MPV 5 be disassembled for transport? I

The MPV is not designed to break-down easily for transport. The only "simple" thing that comes off is the seat which will make it about 40 pounds or so lighter, so you still have over 150 pounds to lift without taking the batteries out, which would get it down under 100 pounds...still a lot of weight to tote around. To take off the seat, first disconnect the joystick control cable, then unlatch the seat and lift off the base. This is safer and easier with two people.

The cheapest way to transport is using a ramp. Here's where I buy mine for our clients, and they are the strongest and the lowest priced ramps I have found. http://www.pviramps.com/

You can go with an electric lift, but the cost is going to be a few thousand dollars when all's said and done. If you install one on a car, you'll need at least a class II hitch, and I have found that usually you will also have to get air-shocks to compensate for the extra weight on the tail end. Even some vans, like the Honda, sag too much in the rear with a lift and chair on the rear end.

What hapens when your hover round wont start.

What happens is you won't go anywhere!

Seriously, it is usually a case of bad batteries. Each battery should show at least 12 Volts DC across the terminals. If one or both don't, replace, recharge and you should be good to go. If the batteries are good (over 12 volts), and you get no lights on at all, first check that the circuit breaker isn't tripped. It's a small button located on the base with a flexible cover. Push it to reset, and try again. If it's still dead, then remove the seat and the shroud cover and unplug, and replug every single snap-on connection to insure good contact, and check all fuses. If it is still dead, this means the power controller or the joystick are shot ($$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!). Hoverounds usually have a combo joystick/power control module made by PG Drives, and a new one runs about $1,300.00. If you go on Ebay and search for a PG drive controller, make sure that it is one that has identical connections for your chair, or it won't work. You can usually pick them up for 300-400 bucks. They are very easy to install, just unplug, inplug, and go. If you can find somebody in your area with a similar model, you can unplug their joystick and plug it into your chair. If it works, its the joystick control, if not, it's back to a bad connection.

How do I lock up my Hoveround MPV5?

1. Turn the controller on.

2. To lock the chair, depress and hold the ON/OFF button. After one second the controller will beep. Release the ON/OFF button. Move the joystick forward until the control beeps. Move the joystick in reverse until the control beeps. Release the joystick. There will be a long beep that indicates the controller is locked.

3. To unlock, turn the control system on. The speed/response indicator will be rippling up and down. Move the joystick forward until the control beeps. Then move the joystick in reverse until the control beeps. Release the joystick. There will be a long beep that indicates the controller is unlocked.

This is from the manual, I hope it helps you.

Can a 33amp hour battery be used in a mpv5hoveround

If it is a 12 volt Size U1 - yes. (UB12350, GPC1234, GPL-U1, NP33-12B) The amp hour rating is dependent on use and manufacturer of the battery. It is the size and voltage that matters. AGM batteries generally have a slightly lower AH rating but recover better from deep deep discharging cycles. (Available at marine stores) The amp-hour rating affects how long the chair will travel between chargings.

Hoveround technique rwd motorized chair charge

Normally the power chairs will not operate when connected to the charger. If you mean the controller comes on when connected to the charger but it wont come on when the charger is disconnected, I would test the batteries first, then the connections and fuses. Did a technician inspect your power chair to determine a controller was needed, or was that just a guess by the representative over the phone? If your insurance will not cover the repairs, I would recommend spending $50 for a technician from Hoveround to come out and inspect the chair to determine what is needed to fix it so you know for SURE. It may be something simple and inexpensive.
Good luck!

Is intermittent fasting safe?

Yes it is generally accepted as perfectly safe and I know of a 50 year old and a 71 year old that does it. The 71 year old is a retired doctor. Intermittent fasting is safe for many people, but it's not for everyone. Skipping meals may not be the best way to manage your weight if you're 'with/child* or *feeding. If you have kidney stones, gastroesophageal reflux, diabetes or other medical problems, talk with your doctor before starting intermittent fasting.

Charger not working plug in light stays green, but battery is not charged

I have got 3 different chargers for my scooter. It's a Tifgalop T108. The charger light would stay green on the new chargers. My old one was the only one that was charging it. While I was replacing the charging ports, I came to find out that the negative wire is in a different location on the new ports. The negative wire was on number 3 on the old ones and is in number 2 on the new ones. After changing the ports all my new chargers work fine now.
