E.PU is a general power stage failure. Without knowing the part number of the actual inverter with the problem it is difficult to speculate what the actual problem is. One thing to do is to check if the fan is operating. Some of the older F5 inverters utilized a feedback loop so that the inverter could tell if the fan was functioning properly. If the fan was not functioning the inverter would trip into E.PU.

I am pretty sure the error that you have is PnA (Position not Acceptable). This is telling you that the position that you are trying to get to can not be obtained within the programmed ramps that have been established. Check your speed, accel, decel and the actual position that is programmed into the inverter.

Do you mean E.iEd? E.iEd is stating that the wrong type of signal is being applied to the control card. NPN signal being applied to PNP input. PNP signal being applied to NPN input.

There are over 1500 parameters in the inverter. These have been setup by the manufacture of the machine so that the machine functions the way it was intended to in a safe trouble free manner. Before one defaults the inverter you should always use the COMBIVIS software to obtain a complete upload of all the parameter values. This way you can always get back to the settings before the inverter was set to default. Also with the COMBIVIS software you can access all the parameters in the inverter. With the software the Fr parameters are where you would find how to reset the inverter to default values.

Run the motor with no load to see if it functions with no load. If the system functions with no load, you may still need to increase your acceleration time to reduce the current demand. What is the part# / serial# of the inverter in question?

Error Over Current. Disconnect motor leads at U/V/W terminals and run the inverter to determine if the problem is internal or external of the inverter. If it is external then you are looking for a shorted winding in the motor or a shorted motor lead between the inverter and the motor.
