If all of your handsets have static then its likely your phone line has a problem. You should call your phone service provider to check the lighting arrestors and your phone lines grounding. Often the arrestors wear-out and your grounding rod and/or power line ground connection is not good. In some cases the grounding is though your waterline (copper line). Corrosion can effect the effectiveness of the ground.
